Chapter 31: Grand Gesture
Gemma walked into the luxury apartment building and immediately felt impressed by the lobby. She'd heard of The Beaumont but she'd never known anyone who lived here. The really wealthy and famous primarily lived in the exclusive building. Everything simply looked expensive, gold and marble everywhere as well as a few couches for visitors to sit on.
There was a desk where she could see two uniformed people sitting and manning the phones, a man and a woman. The woman looked up from her computer and smiled at Gemma as the doorman closed the door behind her.
Gemma smiled uncertainly and approached the desk. "Hi, I'm here to see Max Adams?"
The woman nodded curtly. "Mr. Adams is expecting you. He's in apartment 710. Would you like me to take you there?"
"Uh, no," Gemma answered hesitantly, she wasn't sure what she was walking into and didn't need an audience. "I think I can find it."
