Chapter 19 Face-Slapping

Hearing his sister's voice, Lin Tian's eyebrows rose as he turned his head to look toward the door.

As soon as he turned around, he saw his sister running over excitedly without even putting on her shoes, shouting, "Mom, brother really ranked first!"

"What first? Be more specific, and stop shouting," Shi Qing frowned, looking at her daughter with some dissatisfaction.

Seeing the look on her mother's face, Lin Fang reined in her emotions a bit, but her face still showed excitement as she looked at Shi Qing, "Mom, I saw the monthly exam rankings today, and the first place is actually brother. He ranked first in the monthly exam!"

"What?" Upon hearing this, Shi Qing was taken aback and then turned her head with a puzzled look to sweep a glance at Lin Tian, who was sitting on the sofa.

Her son could actually be the top in his grade? Had the sun risen from the west?

Shi Qing didn't believe it, and Lin Qin beside her was even more incredulous. Lin Qin looked at Lin Fang with doubt, "Ah Fang, you didn't see it wrong, did you? Maybe it's someone with the same name and surname? Your... your brother shouldn't be scoring that well!"

"Not at all, I saw it very clearly, it's written 'Class of Senior 3 (19) Lin Tian', absolutely no mistake." After speaking, Lin Fang repeated with certainty, "I looked at it four or five times, definitely no mistake!"

"Er..." Hearing this, Lin Qin didn't know what to say. It wasn't possible to insist Lin Fang was wrong, but she absolutely couldn't believe that Lin Tian had really ranked first in his grade.

Meanwhile, Shi Qing turned her head and looked at Lin Tian with a puzzled face, asking, "Lin Tian, is what your sister saying true?"

"You mean how come I suddenly did so well, right?" Lin Tian interrupted his mother, continuing, "Actually, I could have scored this well before, I just didn't want to." Lin Tian said with an indifferent face.

This reason was actually quite weak, and nine out of ten people wouldn't believe it. If your grades were that good, why hide them all the time?

But Lin Tian didn't need anyone else to believe, he just needed one reason for himself.

"You didn't cheat, did you?" After a moment of stunned silence, Lin Qin asked with some hesitation.

She really didn't believe that Lin Tian, the underachiever, could have scored the top rank in his grade.

Furthermore, if Lin Tian could really achieve the top rank, wouldn't it make all her usual bragging about her own son particularly ridiculous? Wasn't it a slap in her own face?

Hearing Lin Qin's doubtful words, Lin Tian glanced over dismissively and said, "Whether I cheated or not, you can ask your son if he can cheat his way to such good results."

After speaking, Lin Tian didn't bother with more words and stood up to leave for his room.

Seeing Lin Tian walk away, Lin Qin felt somewhat embarrassed. She had been challenged by a kid she normally lectured, and it made her lose face.

Noticing the embarrassment on Lin Qin's face, Shi Qing hastily tried to smooth things over, "Sister Lin, don't take it to heart. This child just doesn't know his place, I'll reprimand him later!"

"Ah, it's nothing, it's nothing." Lin Qin smiled awkwardly, then stood up with an apologetic air, "I have to go back and cook, I'll come over some other time for a chat."

"Ah, sure!" Shi Qing was a bit startled, then got up smiling in response.

After sending off Lin Qin, Shi Qing turned to Lin Fang and asked with a serious face, "Your brother really ranked first in the grade?"

"Really!" Lin Fang nodded emphatically.

Upon hearing that Lin Qin had gone, Lin Tian didn't care; his main focus was now on his superpower. If it weren't for Lin Qin constantly bragging and showing off about her own son, Lin Tian wouldn't have bothered to show her any attitude.

But this was also good, now she probably wouldn't have the face to come over again.

After musing for a while, Lin Tian shifted his focus back to his superpower and closed his eyes to summon the superpower menu once again.
