Deep Down Alone

It was all dark, quieter, and rather calm.

A bunch of rubble have fallen from the upper floor and made a loud thud, landing roughly through the whole floor. A voice of a young man grimaced and coughs from the stone rubble.

This young man has shaggy hair and average black eyes. He had an arrow pierced through his left arm, wounding him and bleeding. The young man then stood up, coughing and grimned again as he hurt himself from the pain.

'Where am I?' Yuichi cogitate.

He looked around at his surroundings and saw a few details of the floor he descended from. The floor was manifested by the mysterious cyan moss that was illuminating itself on the stone wall. Small fungus such as mushrooms were also glowing on various parts of the floor and it's the only light source of the floor. It was different and majestic and creepy at the same time.

Abruptly, he suddenly remembered something important and looked up with his anxious face.

'I gotta go find my friends!' He thought to himself.

As he gazed upon the hole he made on the ceiling, it clearly was a deep fall. Multiple layers of floors can be seen on the narrow sight of the hole and you could tell he fell really deep down.

'I fell down really deep. I gotta find a way to climb back to floor 5th, but how?' He questions himself.

'When I chased down that necromancer, the ground I was running with suddenly broke and fell apart, bringing me down with the rubble. Judging from this floor scenery, it feels like I'm somewhat landed on a floor that has a lot of this strange blue stuff on the wall.'

'I already saw this blue stuff before, it was on the first floor and as we went deeper it grew more. But it looks like this stuff has covered the entirety of this floor. I wonder if I can analyze this with the system.'

[This type of fungus has an element of glowing in the dark. It only grows in dark places and they're harmless to any life being.]

'So it's just decorations, huh? Well, these things are actually helping me see in the dark, barely though. I have to reunite with my friends so that they won't worry about me that much.' Yuichi thought to himself.

In much pain he felt to his left arm, he looked at it to check how severe it was. After some time to encourage himself up, he grabbed the arrow and pulled it out from his arm, grimacing in pain.

"GRRR!" As he groaned, he successfully pulled out the arrow out of his arm and threw it into the wall, creating a chain reaction to the fungus, making them bright better than before.

The floor was illuminated in cyan quickly through the entirety, it was like the room was forming a light speed of portal for a second. Yuichi was bewildered for a moment, interested in new information he just discovered.

He walked onto the floor with his intriguing expression and looked around. The cyan glows shrines through his body and is reflected in his eyes.

'This place is oddly satisfying to watch. It reacts to sounds and impact which is really cool to watch. But if I keep doing that, I might just attract monsters that are lurking somewhere on this floor.' He thought while walking.

'I don't know what kind of monsters exist on this floor but I would expect their appearances to be similar to the fungus. Speaking of floors, just how many floors have I fallen through? Can I ask the system about my whereabouts?'

When he did ask the system about his whereabouts, it didn't show him a detailed screen and just simple information, how far and deep is he in the dungeon.

[Floor 20th - Partial Mutated Luminance Floor]

'Wait, I have fallen over 15 floors?! That is really deep!' Yuichi exclaimed in his thoughts. 'I have to get a way to the surface again or else I wouldn't survive here any longer.'

And so, he began walking into the unknown floor of luminance fungus.

It's really unknown why this type of fungus suddenly evolves into this beautiful and astonishing luminance scenery. The world of Eldoria has existed for over a million years and throughout those years, evolution happens to nature and living things, magical creatures and dangerous monsters.

Humanity in this world has adapted to this environment and somehow lived a normal life with magic and fantasy, not like the plain Earth we lived in.

It's not very surprising for the people of Eldoria to see such a fascinating environment, but for Yuichi as an otherworldly person? It's different from within his knowledge.

Yuichi was walking alone on the Luminance Floor and looked around an exit. He was still bewildered and intrigued to see what things he could find while finding a way out.

'This is definitely something you shouldn't see everyday. These luminance fungus are so unique on their own and the way they glow in the dark feels like they're natural glow sticks. I haven't seen any electricity in this world but they have things that are better than electricity itself, I mean, magic exists here so I won't be too surprised.' He thought while walking.

As he kept walking into the luminance floor, he could feel an urge of pain on his left arm and he held it with his right hand, trying to stop the bleed.

'If only I have a healing magic or any healing potion, I could easily let the pain go away. I have to get back to my friends right now.' Yuichi was determined and he continued walking.

For some time, the wall of luminance moss and fungus was still shining with their cyan glow. As much as Yuichi wants to learn more about this type of nature, he was more focused on getting out alive rather than observing and covering some information.

If he does do that while finding a way out, he could have discovered something useful in the future or he could even use them now as essential things. Despite his interest, he still continues to walk and focus on one objective, getting out of the dungeon.

While he was walking on the mossy scenery, a black robe was sitting on the floor as if it was completely abandoned. Yuichi noticed it because of the fungus' illumination and carefully approached the robe with his sword ready to be drawn out of its sheath.

When he was there, he quickly observed the robe with the help of the fungus' illumination. The black robe was full of dust, scattering everywhere on the ground. Speculating further, he found a small red crystal that is like a loot of a monster. Upon picking it up, the system automatically informed Yuichi the description of this object.

[Heart Crystal is an odd object that monsters needed to survive and fully function as one. It has sharp pointy edges and red like a ruby texture. The origin is still unknown and mysterious as no one knows where this object comes from.]

'Heart Crystal? This must be the core of the monsters that let them be alive,' he thought while speculating the crystal.

However, amidst his speculation, a loud thud and footsteps resonates in the entire floor as it makes a chain reaction through the fungus.

Yuichi saw the fungus flickering moment by moment and also heard and felt the incoming threat and he knew it was something bigger than him. He directly hid from the scene while also grabbing the robe. He found a corner that has a slope on it and hid himself there. He peaks out with his half face hidden and suddenly he pales and is terrified.
