Even though Li Wei had all the proofs and facts at hand, he needed few hours to clear up everything. The stock market was going crazy and Li Wei knew many companies were facing Ling Yue's wrath.
All Ling Yue did to collapse the stock market was to post the work progress of the resort project on her president Xen social media account and the investors immediately started choosing Z Heights and Li corps over other companies. This increased the shares of Li corps, pulling it out of the crisis.
Blame it on Ling Yue's bad mood, or the Su families unfortunate fate, the Su corps has almost moved to bankruptcy.
It was 9pm in the night when Li Wei was done with all the company affairs and reached home. While rushing upstairs to see Ling Yue he spotted his mother in kitchen making soup for her but didn't disturb her.
No one had given him any proper reply about Ling Yue's condition since morning and he had no to blame except himself for this situation.
He found his Yueyue on his bed, laying weakly with an oxygen mask and a wet towel on her forehead. Why did it seem like she was always sick since her return from abroad?
He walked to the bed and sat beside her. She was asleep and he didn't dare to disturb her.
"How is she? " Li Wei asked Li Mei who was also present in his bedroom, taking care of Ling Yue. She was watching over Ling Yue since morning and was now slightly angry on her uncle and brother for not taking her Big Sis to hospital. Would she be getting better treatment in hospital?
"I don't know. She woke up an hour after you left and instructed me to post some content on her social media accounts. She made few calls for another one hour before finally resting. But she had a difficult time breathing and hence the oxygen mask. Mom tried to feed her some little soup but she vomited everything and her stitches opened again." Li Mei reported everything and left it for Li Wei to figure out whether her condition was good or bad or worse.
Li Wei sat quietly hearing his sister. He could clearly sense the anger and frustration in Li Mei's voice that stemmed out after watching Ling Yue suffer. Even he himself was angry with him for being useless in this kind of situation.
Knock! Knock!
Mother Li entered the room with a food tray and put it on the bed side table. She looked at her son who was lost and helpless.
"Wei, go and freshen up. You can wake up and feed her later" Mother Li suggested and Li Wei immediately rushed into washroom. He simply changed his clothes and washed his face before coming back to them in less than two minutes.
Mother Li took Li Mei out of the room and though reluctant, Li Mei followed her silently.
"Yueyue.. Wake up. Eat something before going back to rest again" Li Wei gently called her and softly poked her left cheek with his index finger to wake her up.
Ling Yue moved a little before opening her emerald eyes and looking at Li Wei.
"Yueyue.. I am s-sorry" Li Wei couldn't hold it in any longer and apologized for able to protect her well. Ling Yue frowned a little but didn't have energy to do anything more than it.
"You should eat something. A little. Hmm? " Li Wei gently lifted her to a sitting position and put a pillow on the back of her neck. The position she slept in was very uncomfortable and he knew her neck must be aching badly.
He slowly removed her mask and she didn't have any breathing problem now. He didn't make her eat immediately and simply rubbed her cold hands and kissed her forehead.
"Are you okay? " Ling Yue asked him weakly with her eyes still closed. They felt like burning hell whenever she opened them.
"Hmm. I am okay. Because of you." Li Wei replied as he looked at her. Today was the day when he realized how powerful Ling Yue is. Both influentially, financially, physically and mentally. Had this been someone else in her place, they would never be in a state where they would ask about other's welfare.
"Mom got some coconut water for you. Drink a little so that your throat doesn't go dry" saying this, Li Wei held a straw near her lips and Ling Yue opened them take the straw. She slowly drank as much as possible and sometimes brought her oxygen mask to her face to take help in breathing.
Later Li Wei patiently fed her soup and stopped when Ling Yue said it was enough.
"How did you bring me here?" Ling Yue questioned and this was something on her mind since morning. How did they come out? And what happened there after she passed out? She knew she said something and heard few voices but nothing was clear in her mind.
"Someone helped us. We will speak about this when you get better. Okay?" Li Wei told as he lowered her onto the bed and her pillows and blankets. He made sure not to touch her stomach.
"I-I remember I spoke s-something. Something weird. What did I say?" Ling Yue asked again. She was sure she said something irrational feeling that it was correct or something but wasn't able to pinpoint what she saw or spoke. Li Wei looked at and eased that little frown forming between her brows. He didn't want to scare her by telling about their past life and that she regressed back in time and called him Jiang Yuan.
"I will tell you everything once you get better. Okay?" Ling Yue didn't ask again after hearing this and closed her eyes to sleep. But she gripped his warm hands that were already holding her's and mumbled thanks. Li Wei simply kissed her hand as a reply and stayed beside her till he was sure that she was sleeping well and went to take a bath.
Mother Li was waiting for him in his room when he came out. It was late and his parents would be usually asleep by this time. His mother should be having something important to talk about.
"Mom." Li Wei called her, not too loud for Ling Yue to wake up from her slumber. Mother Li turned to look at him and signalled him to come out of the room. Li Wei silently followed behind her.
"Wei. What is happening here? Why are you and your uncle not taking her to hospital? How is she going to recover like this? Is her blood type rare? It's not a problem for us to get her blood type. You know that right?" Mother Li asked anxiously. Li Wei sighed listening her complaints. All her complaints were valid and he could refute.
"Mom.. I know and I will get a doctor tomorrow. We cannot take her whatever hospital we want because Nicholas might be searching for her." Li Wei tried to explain.
"Who cares if someone is searching for her? DEAL WITH HIM. Doesn't the Li family has enough security? Shen family is a military family. And is she herself not powerful enough to deal with security issues? What the hell is wrong with you all?" Li Wei was shocked at his mother's outburst. Mother Li was not a person who would lose her cool.
Father Li, Uncle Shen and Li Mei also came out of their rooms to see what made Mother Li shout in the night. Father Li and Li Mei supported mother Li on this point. Father Li was dying to shift her to a hospital but his friend Shen Ling stopped him everytime he brought up this matter and this vexed him. Seems like he was not the only one who was feeling this. He didn't raise his son to be a dummy who hides whenever an enemy attacks.
"Mom, Dad. Believe me. Ling Yue would refuse the treatment even if we take her to hospital." Li Wei told the same thing again. Though he knew his family would never look at Ling Yue differently even if he tells them about her poison, he didn't want them to panic and in return pressure Ling Yue.
This time mother Li was really disappointed with Li Wei and left to her room without uttering a single word to anyone. The other did the same thing and only Uncle Shen could sympathize with Li We now. He too was in the same boat.
Li Wei came back to room and laid on the couch. He didn't sleep on bed in the fear of accidentally hurting her in his sleep. Tonight was again one of those nightmarish nights where he saw his love slipping away from his arms.
