Chapter 44: Strict President Xen.

"Mom, Dad. I am taking dinner for Ling Yue" Li Wei informed before stepping out of Li Mansion. He tooled his car to Z Heights. Being restless all the day, Li Wei finally decided to go and check on Ling Yue.

His previous call to her in the afternoon was answered by her assistant and he was told that she was busy in a meeting.

Soon he reached Z Heights and took the private elevator to go to her office.

The receptionist on her floor was startled seeing Li Wei this late in the night. And what more, dressed in his casuals, and carrying a cute Doreamon lunch box Li Wei looked like a perfect boy friend material. Well, he was already the most desirable bachelor.

"Is your president in her office?" Li Wei asked the receptionist pulling her out of her daze. The receptionist couldn't compare this Li Wei with the dynamic CEO she saw an year ago when he came here to attend a meeting.

"Ahh..No.. President is in the architecture department. She is running a meeting." the receptionist composed herself. She was a professional and that's the reason Ling Yue put her on the top floor. She shouldn't be swayed by the beauties and hunks.

Li Wei thanked before proceeding towards the architecture department.

"Boss. The deadline is still half a month away" an employee from the design department said.

"I don't care when the actual deadline is. The deadline I give you is the final deadline to you all. Why is the work not yet done?" Ling Yue inquired. She had asked them to submit the project proposal today and they were still not done with it. Are these people slacking?

"Boss, the work is almost done. There are only few changes and corrections. It will be done in few hours." another employee pleaded. DAMN! Their boss has been smiling and entertaining the Li siblings a lot recently that they slacked off a little. They should have known better.

"Good. Few hours, right?" Ling Yue questioned to which everyone from the design department in the meeting hall bobbed their heads up and down. Few hours tomorrow and they will be done.

"Cool. No one is going home till this thing is done. If you want to go, then submit your resignation and leave." Ling Yue's commanding voice left everyone speechless.

They knew their boss was ruthless, but ... but another night out? Wuhuu... They should have know better. They shouldn't have slacked off. They were now paying for their procrastination.

"The finance department can start reporting." Ling Yue gave the permission to the finance director to start with his reports. The poor finance department was also subjected to Ling Yue's fire balls.

"What kind of stupid report is this. Even my first assignment was done better than this. I will give you three hours. Bring something resourceful to me." Ling Yue didn't stop her merciless remarks.

Everyone in the room was already used to this monthly frying and roasting session. Everyone walked out of the room exhausted and drained. They had to go and work since their boss wanted another meeting in three hours.

Li Wei stood by the door and listened to Ling Yue commanding her employees. He felt both fascinated and funny. He looked at their presentations and they were all good. But Ling Yue's standard always stopped at perfection.

He remembered how he was called the cold and ruthless CEO. He wondered who exactly among them was cold and ruthless. Had these employees been under him, he would have passed all these reports and presentations and might even give out bonuses.

"Ling Yue" Li Wei gently called from the door catching Ling Yue's attention. She turned and found him standing at the door with a carrier box in his right hand.

"Li Wei? What are you doing here?" Ling Yue asked as she looked at her watch - 10:19 pm. What was he doing this late here?

"Lets eat dinner. You must be hungry." Li Wei walked into the room. He heard from her secretary that she had skipped her lunch and was in back to back meetings since morning.

"Nahh.. I have something to design. I will eat later." Ling Yue wailed pitifully. The previous commanding President Xen was nowhere to be seen now and all he could see was a wailing kid complaining about her homework.

"What are you designing?"

"The resort outline. Li corps and Z Heights have a meeting tomorrow. I have few things to correct in the outline" Ling Yue answered while connecting her iPad to the HMDI and started setting up the system.

"We can just postpone it. You should first get some rest" Li Wei had no issues postponing it. He can't let her work the whole night just for some outline, that too when he was sure that outline would be an outstanding one as always.

"No. Your schedule will get disturbed. So will mine." Li Wei sighed. This girl doesn't listen. Ling Yue was done setting up everything and sat in her chair with her bluetooth pen connected.

"Then how about I feed you?" Li Wei asked which left Ling Yue stunned for a moment. Feed her? No one ever fed her. She was experiencing many little things because of Li Wei. She looked at him and nodded.

Li Wei pulled a chair towards her seat and sat beside her before opening the lunch box. Ling Yue looked at the neatly packed lunch box.

"Did you pack it?" Ling Yue asked looking at the contents inside. She felt warm looking at the dinner. Li Wei had packed all her favourites.

"Hmm.. I know you will be skipping you dinner" Li Wei took out a spoon and scooped some tomato soup first. Ling Yue obediently opened her mouth and enjoyed Li Wei's service.

She started explaining the outline to him. He first didn't understand what was left to correct but later shocked to see all kinds of little points Ling Yue had noted down as corrections. Her design was optimal, economical, safe for senior citizens and kids.

She explained him how slanting the roof by two degrees can reduce the damage costs during snow. She demonstrated the water management system. Looking at her model, he can calculate that they would be making 3x profit than initially estimated.

Li Wei slowly fed her while discussing more about the project with Ling Yue.

"Isn't this water management system a little costly than the conventional one?" Li Wei asked when Ling Yue explained everything in detail about the fountain setup and using the lake to circulate the water.

"It is, but the conventional method will cost us a lot later. With this, we not make sure that the water is not polluted but also ensure that the aquatic life is unharmed. And since we are using heat systems everywhere, the pipes don't get damaged in winter. Even if they did, the damage won't be too severe." Li Wei admired Ling Yue even more now.

No wonder his father praised her so much. She and her team were meticulous. He should also recruit talented youngsters and increase Li corps efficiency.

Ling Yue asked Li Wei to eat every now and then. Li Wei closed the box after devotedly feeding her started peeling an apple for her. Ling Yue was now looking at her design keenly to find any flaws. Li Wei shook his head. She had already polished it to perfection.

"Boss, the design is done." A young man barged into the conference room and reported to Ling Yue. They had finished there work in record time and could now go home after presenting the final draft to Ling Yue.

The young man stood at the door wondering if eyes were playing jokes on him. What was he seeing? CEO Li feeding President Xen?

And his boss, who always maintained five feet distance with others was almost leaning against young master Li.

Ling Yue looked at the intruder calmly. "Oh, the design is done?"

Another employee from the finance department rushed in and reported that they too were done with their report.

"So you people won't finish the work until I stop you from going home." Ling Yue exclaimed calmly as she opened her mouth to take in the apple piece Li Wei was feeding her.

The employees pursed their lips as they looked at the two powerful figures sitting in front of them. Just then Ning Tang entered the room and saw Li Wei and Ling Yue.

"Boss, did you discuss this outline with CEO Li?" Ning Tang asked curiously. If yes, then his work would be reduced tomorrow.

"Yeah. Why? You have got something to comment?" Ling Yue looked at him as she closed her laptop and put it aside after disconnecting the connections. Ning Tang nodded before speaking.

"Since explaining the outline is done, how about we cancel tomorrow's meeting?" Ning Tang suggested. Li Wei raised his eye brows. This CEO Ning always acted proud and mighty outside but was actually not more special than other employees inside Z Heights.

"Is there any good reason to cancel tomorrow's meeting?" Ling Yue questioned as she leaned back in her seat.

"We have already presented the outline right? Why waste time on another meeting for the same?" Ning Tang reasoned.

"CEO Ning. I explained it to Li Wei. Z heights didn't present anything to Li corps yet. And is it CEO Li's job to explain our model to the directors in his company? Is this how handle meetings in my absence?" everyone in the room gulped due to Ling Yue's cold voice.

No one ever won an argument with her. She never left any loop holes in anything she did.

"You will go and explain everything about this model tomorrow in front of CEO Li. I don't want even a single mistake there. You can kiss good bye to your holidays and bonuses if I find you planning to shorten your work hours." Ling Yue warned. She had given too much liberty to him. Does he not know how to differentiate between personal and professional life?

Ning Tang widened his eyes and rattled his head left and right. He knew her holiday-and-bonus threat was serious.

"Hmm.. Everyone be ready with your reports. Back in ten minutes." Ling Yue ordered and everyone rushed back to their places to get their laptops.

Li Wei looked at Ling Yue who was stretching in her chair. He was well aware of the fatigue and pressure that comes with leading a company. Ling Yue was too young to do all these. He was just handling little projects to get an overview what he will be doing in future when he was of her age.

"Don't you want to get some rest?" Li Wei asked tenderly. He was itching to pull her into his arms and put her to sleep.

"It's not like I will get it even if I want to" Ling Yue replied without thinking as she started massaging her nape. It was only after she spoke did she realize her mistake and hurriedly corrected her words.

"I mean the schedule is too tight. It is not easy to get rest." Ling Yue said a little defensively to which Li Wei simply smiled and got to back of her seat.

"I know. Close your eyes and bend forward. Let me do this." Li Wei placed his two thumbs on her nape and gently pressed in causing Ling Yue to sigh in relief. Her nerves were all stiff and throbbing.

She rested her head on the table and let Li Wei massage her nape.

"Li Wei.." Ling Yue softly called which tickled Li Wei's heart in a way he couldn't describe.

"Hmm?"

"Don't go. It's late already. Stay here. I will arrange something for you." Ling Yue said with her eyes still closed. She didn't want to send him so late in the night. Li Mansion is not near and he might be tired and sleepy to drive that far.

Li Wei smiled. He will happily oblige to whatever she says.

"Okay. I think your staff will be here soon." Li Wei reminded her watching her dozing off. Though he wanted her sleep, he can't let her pitiful employees stay here all the night.

Ling Yue sighed and got up and started adjusting her hair and bun.

"Ouch." Ling Yue winced as she tugged on the hair that somehow got tangled with her watch strap. Li Wei looked at her struggling and went ahead to help her remove the watch.

"Ah.. Thanks" Ling Yue thanked Li Wei and loosened her hair to tie it back into a bun while Li Wei, who was holding her watch was looking at the faint white mark on her milky white wrist - Mark left by one of her suicide attempts.

Li Wei stopped staring at the mark when Ling Yue was done making her bun and handed her the watch back.

He decided to speak to her. He was waiting for her to get done with the meetings and have some rest before he brings up the topic tomorrow.

Ling Yue soon arranged everything for Li Wei in Z Heights. There was actually a whole suit for her but she never used it previously.

Li Wei had already informed everyone at home that he was going to Z Heights and they knew he won't be returning anytime soon.

Li Wei lay down on the bed thinking about many things, and all those started and ended on Ling Yue. Why did she become suicidal?

Right now, all he wanted to do was to hug her tight, kiss her senseless, plead her forgiveness and request a lifetime with her. But the thought of doing something and making Ling Yue another Xenxi scared him.

Li Wei fell asleep with all these thoughts wandering in his head.

"Li Wei ... Li Wei ... Wake up.. Li Wei" Ling Yue's voice reached Li Wei causing him to wake up from his slumber. He opened his eyes and saw Ling Yue looking at him. A smile tugged on his lips as soon as he saw her.

"Good Morning" Ling Yue greeted him presently and Li Wei did the same in return. He looked at her. She had changed into a new dress and seemed like all ready to handle few more meetings.

"Here. Your clothes and breakfast is ready. I already informed uncle about this. You can drive to Li corps from here directly." Ling Yue informed while setting up the table for breakfast.

Li Wei was in a daze looking at her. The morning sunlight sneaking in from the windows lit up her face giving it a golden glint.

Li Wei soon got ready because of Ling Yue's continuous urging and nagging. He was now in the reception speaking to Li Mei when some entered the reception and started speaking to the receptionist.

"Sorry sir. You would need an appointment to meet her."
