Chapter 43: Li Wei's hospital visit.

"I will pick you up later" Li Wei said as he opened the passenger door. He drove her to Z Heights and were now in the parking.

"No need. It will probably be late. Sorry, I have to leave the trio at your place. Please care of them for today. I already told them to behave. Just give th.."

"Ling Yue. Aren't we friends? You can depend on me. Stop using sorry and thank you with me. It is no problem to take care of trio." Li Wei held her hand as he spoke and led her to the elevator. Ling Yue smiled. Yup. She now has a friend. A very capable one at that.

"All right. Bye" Ling Yue said as she entered the elevator.

"Hm. Don't forget to eat lunch." Li Wei too bid her good bye. The elevator doors closed and Li Wei was now left alone in the parking. He stood there silently looking at the closed doors.

He remembered Chen Meiling's words. Ling Yue was suicidal and her triggers were still unknown. He couldn't help but feel more and more concerned about her.

He sat in his car and called his mom.

"Li Wei?"

"Mom, can you give me Dr Chen's number and hospital address?" Li Wei asked as soon as the call connected. He should not waste time and take proper care of her. She doesn't know how to take care of herself.

"Oh.. Okay. Wait. I will text them to you." Mother Li agreed and sent Chen Meiling's number and forwarded the hospital address. Li Wei immediately chauffeured his car towards the hospital.

"Do you have an appointment sir?" the receptionist asked Li Wei when he expressed his intention to meet her.

"No. But can you tell her that it is about her Patient Ling Yue? I can wait here." Li Wei politely replied and smiled making the receptionist blush. She had never seen such a handsome hunk before. Was he taken?

She nodded and immediately went in to ask Dr Chen.

"Sir, Mam is currently diagnosing a patient. You can go in after they are done." the receptionist informed Li Wei who was now sitting in the waiting area. Li Wei thanked her before going back to his thoughts. He didn't know what he will find today, and this was making him nervous.

"Mr Li. You can go in." the receptionist's voice brought him out of his reverie and he walked into Chen Meiling's office.

Chen Meiling looked at Li Wei and frowned. Why was he alone? She thought Ling Yue would be here too.

"Good Morning Dr Chen." Li Wei greeted the woman in her mid thirties as he took a seat opposite to her. He looked at the shelf behind her. Six national level certificates, two international certificates, two shields, three trophies, and twelve medals. She was undoubtedly a genius in her field.

"Good Morning Mr Li. Where is Ling Yue?" Chen Meiling didn't beat around the bush. These were her office timings and she had appointments and meetings later.

"She is not here Dr Chen. I came here to know about her." Li Wei sincerely replied earning an amused expression from Dr Chen.

"And why do you want to know more about her?" Chen Meiling didn't expect that one day someone would come and inquire about Ling Yue. That girl behaved as if she was non-existent in this world.

"Because I am pursuing her" Li Wei's answer made Dr Chen dumbfounded. Pursuing Ling Yue?

"Does she know?" Chen Meiling curiously asked as she took out few documents and carefully went through them.

"No. She doesn't. For her, I am simply a friend for now." Li Wei answered. He didn't have any problem in sharing these things with Chen Meiling. She was Ling Yue's doctor. She can use this information to analyse her case better.

"She now made friends? How many?" As far as Chen Meiling remembered, Ling Yue had no concept of friends. Her pets were the only ones she ever entertained.

"Well. Me and my family." Li Wei replied. He saw the name on the file Chen Meiling was holding. It had Ling Yue's name. And the file looked old with many prescriptions and scanning reports in it.

He frowned. He never saw her take any medicines.

"To what extent does she entertain you?" Chen Meiling started her interrogation but it was now Li Wei's turn to question.

"What exactly is wrong with Ling Yue?"

"I can't tell you my patients details just because someone came and told me that they are pursuing her." Li Wei smirked. He liked professional people.

"Then I will have no way to convince her to start her therapy again."

"You just have to trick her to meet me. I can convince her."

"She is too intelligent to be tricked. And you too know that you can't convince her." Chen Meiling pursed her lips. She too knew that. But she can't disclose her patient's information to strangers. Li Wei noticed her hesitation.

"I know you are worried about her. And just like you I am worried about her too. Ling Yue is very important to me. More than you can ever imagine. I can't take care of her if I don't know about her." Li Wei had no proper words to express what he felt for Ling Yue.

Every second away from her left him restless. Only her presence put him at ease. Her walking around the his condo, skating with her, cooking together, working till late night, driving her to office, these mundane things suddenly felt too important in life.

Chen Meiling looked at the young man siting across her. Never in her wildest dreams did she dreamt of CEO Li sitting in front of her and confessing his love for Ling Yue.

Sigh. She finally relented. CEO Li will not have anything to do with information anyway.

"Ling Yue first came here when she was nine years old. A man brought her here. We didn't have the permission to check anything about the man since our higher ups prohibited us from doing so."

"Even Ling Yue never told anything about then man but she was comfortable with him. The man too treated her like his daughter. He brought her for her therapy sessions for like almost two years."

"Ling Yue never spoke much, neither did she react much to anything. It took her almost four months to start speaking to me."

"Though she was autistic, she had already worked on herself well before coming here. I was only told to cure her PTSD. It was actually tough since Ling Yue was not ready to speak anything at all. If I hadn't heard her speak to the man, I would have thought she had no voice."

"Is her trauma because of her family?" Li Wei asked though he was sure that it wasn't. He can guess that it was because of that sanatorium she was sent to.

"No.. After Ling Yue started speaking to me I got to know that it wasn't because of her family. She didn't fear speaking about that family. But she was never able to tell what happened after her family abandoned her."

"She tried, but many times she fainted off. Twice she had panic attacks."

Li Wei clenched his fists. What actually happened in that sanatorium? He remembered that early morning on the mountain peak.

For the first time, the ever confident Ling Yue stuttered. It must have taken her a lot of effort to speak that out to him. Might be he was the only one who knew about this.

"Then? Did she tell you anything later?" Since Ling Yue was able to speak about the sanatorium with him, there must have been some kind of progress previously, right?

"Sigh.. No. After her first panic attack she cut her wrist with glass. Thankfully she was already in the hospital and nothing bad happened. After her second panic attack she was scared of everyone around her and almost jumped of the building. She didn't recognize anyone for almost a week."

Li Wei was shocked. She cut her wrist? Almost jumped off the building? His Yueyue would have died. And she didn't recognize anyone?

"T-Then how did she get better?" Li Wei shivered at the thought of Ling Yue forgetting him.

"We don't know. She suddenly got better after a week. I didn't dare to ask her about that later."

"Then how exactly are you going to cure her?" Li Wei was now vexed. What was this? This woman was scaring him and giving no proper solution for Ling Yue's problem.

"Mr Li. Ling Yue is a strong girl. She can get over her fears once she opens up about them. But that is where she is struck. Even after so many years, she is not exactly ready to tell it out"

"I once asked her write it on paper. And she actually did. But she tore the paper before I could even read it. She is not ready to let anyone know."

"What about her insomnia and nightmares?" Li Wei's asked.

"Her frequency of nightmares has decreased but that's only because she tires herself to death during the day. She doesn't sleep until her body shuts down."

"Then what about her migraine?" Li Wei understood her trauma cannot be solved unless she speaks out. But what about other things?

"That is not exactly migraine Mr Li. Let me show you." Chen Meiling took few scans out from the file and put it on a white board before lighting it up.

There was MR scan and X-Ray put on the board. The scans were dated an year ago. Must be her recent reports.

He looked at the reports and his heart raced with unease. The X-ray was done for her skull. He thought it was migraine. She told him it was migraine. What's with these scans? Is this why she fainted all of a sudden.

"W-What are these?" Li Wei paled looking at all these. There were still many scans inside the folder. His thoughts went astray. He remembered Xenxi too was about Ling Yue's age when she died. He couldn't let Ling Yue leave him. He couldn't bare that.

Chen Meiling looked at Li Wei and felt pity for the young man. She hoped at least he would be able to convince Ling Yue.

"Mr Li. Her severe headaches are not as simple as migraine. She had a skull fracture. You see the crack there right? The one marked with the pen. She had that since she was six. At that time her condition wasn't suitable to put her through a surgery. Later Ling Yue refused to have a surgery. Though the fracture healed a little over time, it is still there and surgery is needed."

Li Wei remained quite looking at the scans. The little crack was clearly visible. Even if it was little, it was near her brain. It was dangerous. He thanked his stars for sparing Ling Yue's life.

His jaws were taut and eyes slightly red as he looked at the scans. Who was so merciless to beat a six years old girl on head? It must have hurt a lot.

"Why is she refusing?"

"I don't know. She doesn't speak about it." Chen Meiling sighed. It was really tough dealing with Ling Yue.

"Then why did she suddenly refuse the therapy now? What happened?"

"Sigh.. We were having a general talk about her pets and all when this caught her attention." Chen Meiling took out a news paper from the folder and showed it to Li Wei. There was an article already circled with a red marker.

"She reread this particular article for like almost seven times before she paled and fainted off. After she woke up, she just told that she didn't need any of these and started ignoring me." Chen Meiling construed.

Li Wei read the article and his heart skipped few beats every now and then. The article mentioned about an unmarried pregnant woman dying in a fire accident.

Did she get scared of this? Did she remember something?

"You see Mr Li. She is right now young and her body can recuperate well even after a brain surgery. Later her headaches will only grow worse and there might be even more severe symptoms. I hope you can convince her." Chen Meiling said earnestly.

Ling Yue was the only unsolved case in her career. She felt defeated that even after ten years she didn't see a significant progress in Ling Yue.

"What about the man?"

"For a period of time neither of them came here. After that it was only Ling Yue who came here alone. He didn't come after that"

"Thank You Dr Chen. I will find a right time to talk to her about this." Li Wei didn't know what and how he was going to bring up this topic but he cannot let Ling Yue suffer in silence anymore.

Li Wei left Dr Chen's office not long after. He got to know another thing. Ling Yue never told anything about her work to Dr Chen. She just told her that she was working somewhere. Dr Chen was unaware of Ling Yue being Xen Eliny. He too didn't expose her identity.

He didn't forget to collect her scans before driving home. He went into his study as soon as he reached home. It was already lunch when he arrived but he rushed into study and skipped his lunch.

The first thing he did was to book an appointment with a neurologist. And later he started playing with the stock market giving Su family a huge blow.

He still had that sanatorium to look into but first he would start with this Su family. Today he really felt that his Yueyue was too kind to leave these monsters alive.

Later Mother Li and father Li came to him asked about his hospital visit. Li Wei didn't want his parents to get sad and upset after knowing Ling Yue condition and hence didn't tell anything about her headaches.
