My heart ached for him as another roll of tears fell on his other cheeks.

With three strides of my legs, I was in front of him. I raised my heels and tilted my face closer to him. I kiss his cheek, kissing his tears.

"I am sorry," I whispered to him. Thirteen is too young to witness two deaths.

I stroke his cheek, wiping his tears away, paying back the kindness and care he showed to me when he saw my tears.

"It's okay if you don't want to talk about that. It's a terrible thing to recall and recount." I say, feeling guilty for nudging him to tell me about his past.

He caught my hand and brought it to his lips. "No, I don't mind. I want you to know the dark side of me." He says against the back of my palm.

"Dark, mystic, twisted. Like those fallen angels huh? They are so beautiful no wonder you are one of them." I jested and that brought a big smile on his face.
