Jake was fully into his cooking by the time he heard the loud bang of the bedroom door. He was grateful that the house was small because it allowed him to listen to every silent movement in any corner of the house. Just now, he'd heard as Kaiden shut the bedroom door and started to pad the floors over to the kitchen side. He seemed to be walking too quickly so Jake stole the chance to silence the sound of his footsteps. He immediately applied extra effort in whisking the eggs. 

His boyfriend appeared in front of him.

''Hey Love. How is it going with the dish?''

Pretending not to hear him, Jake spiralled a sharp turn and proceeded to the other side of the kitchen. His hands got busy doing nothing and Kai started to wonder what it was he was looking for.
