chapter 3? can't believe I made it this far

...a 50 count of only Boston creme munchkins and a gourmet cupcake that was her favorite. He handed her each item and saw her face go to excitement in less than a second. As she was munching on the munchkins she pulled out her cherry Gatorade from the side of her back bag and enjoyed her time of peace.

She waited for at least 20 minutes from the time he knocked on the door and entered. She heard the party downstairs get louder and louder wondering what should be done about this. Her jet(plane) lag was now starting to come into effect and she was getting tired. What options are available she thought to herself. Just when she was about to make a decision Avery got up and knocked on the door. Without waiting to see if he was allowed entrance he entered the room with a stack of papers.

Hmmm....Lana hummed to herself should she also go in or not. She tipped toed over to the door to listen in. She placed her head against the door to listen but didn't hear anything. She slightly cracked the door and entered the room as she heard Avery arguing with her father. She knew who he was even before he could say a word.

She could still smell his strong sent of forest and some minty pain cream she can't remember the name of from when she was young. She entered the room as quietly as possible. He suddenly stopped arguing and stared at Lana as her reflex of tears started to form on her face.

Davis stared at Lana as if she was a rare creature. He inhaled while taking in her scent. His wolf was confirming whether or not she was his child but he knew it was his daughter Lana. The same daughter who he thought lost to a wolf attack at the age of 5.

Even though she grew up she still looked the same but taller and a little bit bigger. Avery turned to Lana and said "Lana please wait outside while I talk to your father" Lana quietly nodded her head as if she was a rabbit about to be attacked by her pet gravels and slowly backed out of the room.

Just as she took a step backwards she heard Davis say "Stop!" in a choked voice then with a face that looked like it aged 10 years asked "How?!" he slowly sat back down on his chair as thoughts and memories of his wife trying to talk to him about their daughter surfaced.

He ended each talk abruptly and harshly before she could even say 2 words. Avery knew this case was going to be difficult but he didnt expect that it would get even worse from when he met her father. He tried to massage the lines out from between his eyebrows and repeated what he said before "Mr. Landen I am here to deliver your daughter to you as bequested the will of your late wife. I need you to sign papers claiming that you are indeed Mr. Davis Landen and are the father of this child here Allana Lillian Emily doeson.." Just as Avery got to her last name Davis interrupted him "doeson why does she have her mother's maiden name?"

Avery got a look on his face as he was interrupted. Like father like daughter he couldn't help but think. He was only in the presence of this man for less than an hour and he wanted to smack him. "Mr. Landen the point is are you or are you not going to take responsibility for her after you meet her?" Avery acted as if Lana wasn't here in the room. Lana pouted she could tell by the way things were going he didnt even want to see her.

It looked like the paper for refusal was already in front of him. Davis looked to where Lana was looking at on his desk and coughed. He took the paper and put them through the shredder and shamelessly said "Now that the refusal papers are shredded. You can now give me the right papers. We can look over this little undersight that you caused and continue on as I am willing to take my daughter." He opened his arms as he continued " Now that I lectured him on giving me the wrong forms come give your daddy a hug."

Fredrick held a straight face while Avery face turned a little ugly. Shameless! He cursed in his head. Avery pulled out the papers again and placed them on his desk as he watched Davis getting the cold shoulder from his daughter. Lana looked away as if she didn't see anything just leaving him right there with his arms wide open. Davis coughed and went over to where his daughter was and quickly picked her up.

When he picked her up he cuddled her in his arms and sat back down in his previous seat. Between being tired and the lost familiar smell she slowly feel asleep in her fathers arms as he and Avery wrapped up the paperwork and left her will and a letter to him and each of his sons on his desk. He saw no letter in the stack to Lana.

He wanted to ask but at the same time he didn't because he didn't want to hurt her feelings even more. It's been a draining day today Davis thought to himself as he looked at her. He walked out of the noise proof office and saw a carrier right beside the door.

He picked up the cage expecting the cat to go crazy but instead it just stared at him. He walked over to a guest room that was beside his room and placed her in it. He let the cat loose in the room as Eric walked behind with a cat litter box and bowls. They filled it with litter from the box that they got through the mail mysteriously earlier on. As Davis locked the windows he made sure she would have everything before finally locking her in for the night.
