Savion's POV

The much anticipated day was finally here, a crampling fear was rooted deeply in my gut. I barely got up to 30 minutes of sleep last night, my mind was too troubled to embrace the peace of sleep.

During the about 30 minutes of sleep that I got, I had a dream. The root of my worry appeared, Daniel Bryson and in that dream, he won the duel, killing my father in cold blood in front of me.

The room was still dark, but my alarm of 5am had gone off. I lay still, feeling hesitant about what the day ahead would result to. I half wished the hands of time could turn back around forever so this day never comes.

But it was inevitable, the day was here already and the duel would go on as planned.

A small clicking of Angie's door met my ears, I steadied my breathing to listen to Angie come out of her room, her footsteps barely making a sound. I would have missed it if not for my developed wolf senses.

She shut her door without a sound, her light footsteps making her way closer to my room. Her scent of vanilla assured of my mind that it was definitely her, she probbed at my door without knocking and came in, while closing the door behind her.

The still silence told me she wasn't moving, "Are you awake, Savion?."

Today, I couldn't scold her about knocking before barging into my room, "You need something!" I turned my eyes to her.

There, in front of the door stood my 6 year old sister, barely three feet tall in her ducky pyjamas and bare feet. Her black hair sticking everything from just waking up, her black eyes searching for me on the wide bed.

"I couldn't sleep" she said sadly, her face squeezed together and I knew she was close to tears.

Me neither little one, "Wanna come up?."

She smiled immediately, leaving the door and running towards my bed. She struggled to jump in and almost fell but i immediately caught her and helped her in.

She snuggled close to me happily, her tiny body not up to half of my body height, her leg came to rest of my mid thigh while her head lay on my stomach.

I couldn't see her face but I wrapped my hand around her.

"Do you think daddy will win the fight?" She suddenly asked.

"Of course. Dad is the strongest man I know. Do you know anyone stronger than our Alpha Daren?."

"No" she shook her head against my stomach, "but that Daniel guy looks really tough. He's so big. Why do you think he challenged dad for the throne?. Mom said you're next in line. If he wins dad, does that mean..?"

My throat tightened. Some rouge wolf shows up in the park house three days ago looking strong and mighty. He dared to challenge my father Alpha Daren to the throne!. As the dumb rules, my father accepted.

Today was set aside for the 'To the death Duel'. One wins when one dies.

"That won't happen. The throne won't shift from our family to the hands of a random rouge wolf" I hugged her closer, "Dad will win. Remain king Alpha. When he's old, I'll take over" and the first thing I'll do is let go of some old laws.

Laws like anyone can challenge the king at anytime to gain custody of the throne. That just sucks.

Nobody has ever threatened the throne since I was born 21 years go. The pack has been peaceful and pleasant untill that jerk ass rouge came out of nowhere.

My father is a brave warrior I know, but he's getting old, why didn't that bastard rouge come when I'm king.

Her gentle snores alerted me that she has fallen asleep already. My thoughts decided on leaving her to sleep in my bed or sleeping beside her till 8. The Duel was by 12 anyways.

I've practiced along side dad for the three days that came after the duel was announced. He tried to make a joke of it with dad jokes but I knew better he was hiding his fears from me.

He had too many openings, he was a little weak and his calculations were wrong. I beat him a lot of time, i felt bad that I intentionally let him win twice, that must have gotten into his head.

I wish I had to fight with the rouge instead. Deep down, I knew my dad didn't have a chance with the big bad wolf.

I let Angie sleep beside me till 8am. I gently lay her down and snuggled her up before going to the bathroom to brush my teeth, take a hot shower, shave and comb my hair. I chose joggers and a t shirt planning to go meet dad at the training ground.

Angie still snored peacefully as I left my room. I heard a loud gasp from Angie's room and shuffling of feet.

"Angie?" Mother called.

I sigh and approached the open door.

"Angie!" Mother called opening the door to her bathroom.

As she came out, I went into her room, "Savion have you seen your sister?" Mother asked, "I came in to get her ready for the big day and she wasn't in her bed" she explained.

"She's in my bed. She came to me when she couldn't sleep" I told her, letting my eyes run down her appearance. She was in her bath robe, probably just finished having a shower. Her hair was wrapped in another towel neatly. Her skin was a perfect blend of fairness without a wrinkle in sight.

Her black eyes were beaded, like two drops of honey in milk, but today her pupil weren't as white as milk, they were red.

"Oh, how sweet of you!" She cooed coming to give my hand a squeeze.

"Your majesty!. Your majesty!" A female maid gasped out of breath coming to my mother.

"What is the matter?" Mother asked calmly.

"It's Daniel Bryson!. He's here!. He wan't the duel to start now!."

My mother's eyes widened in shock just as mine did.
