While I tried to play by dad's rules, I didnt like that I had to hurt Sal's feelings. Sal was right to be mad at me. I was a chicken to admit I liked her. The truth was that I liked her as much as I like Semm. I wished we could have all been an item together. The 3 of us, loving each other equally. Me, my boyfriend and my best friend. That would have solved the bad blood between the two of them.
Sal: I don't care that you don't love me, but, do not be angry at Slater. This has nothing to do with him. Poor boy is just being a bad lookout. And a good friend to you.
Me: Bad lookout? What?
Sal: Yeah, he is the Lookout.
Me: What? Girl...
Sal: Oh, you have not figured it out yet. Well it's not my place and I absolutely do not want to interfere now.
Me: What? What do you mean?
Sal: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Me: You are confusing me.
Sal: Nevermind. I will do you a favour, sneak out tonight and meet me at home. There is an interesting gathering with just a few students and you should come. I am telling you to be there because I love you. I will not do any more favours for you after that.
Me: What?
Sal: That's all.
Sal walked away from me with me watching her leave all confused.
I quickly forgot about what she said and went through the day. I did not see Semm my love. It was almost as if he disappeared or was avoiding me. I would not blame him for that considering how our last encounter got interrupted rudely by Sal.
That evening I thought of a way to get out of the house. Sneaking away was not an option . Dad had fox ears and any slight sounds would have him checking out what's happening. I decided the best way was to use

Incase you didn't get it, it was Emotional blackmail.
Dad and mom had a very toxic relationship. I hardly mentioned her because she and I stopped being very close when I decided I wanted to stay with dad after they split.
What happened? I think mom got tired of trying, so Mom packed and moved out 5years ago because she couldn't stand to live with Dad anymore. He was hardly ever home, She always suspected he had mistresses and he occasionally resorted to slapping and hitting her. Not forgetting emotional abuse.
He claimed and it did seem he had changed and I did see he was trying to be a better father, but mom never believe him. I chose to stay With Dad because I knew I was Daddy's little princess . That was my trump card and I would use that. That was however why dad kept me home instead of letting me stay in a hostel on campus. All these things made it easier to blackmail Dad.
The plan was set in motion. It was time to break him to get some breathing space.I got up, packed some few cloths into my backpack, went downstairs to the kitchen where dad was preparing supper and told him I was going to go live with mom. And mom would get me a hostel where no one would ground me.
You should have seen the panic on his face.It was sat and funny.
Dad: Why? No, I refuse. You are going nowhere.
Me: Dad, I am 18years old. Well, almost. You know my 18th birthday is just around the corner and I have made no fuss about it. First of all, I am too old to be grounded. Second of all, you cannot just take away my phone. Thirdly, kids my age do not even listen to their parents anymore. I stay home, I obey your rules and I still show you respect but you show me non in return. Are you punishing me? I will leave. Isn't that what you wanted? Treating me like the way you treated mom to make her leave. Treating me like a child, believing anyone but me. You even slapped me! That is domestic abuse.
Dad: You know it's for your own good. I am just looking out for you, my princess. I want you to be perfect and to have good opportunities.
Me: If I truly was your princes, you would never slap me and ground me and take away my phone, just to make me feel like less of a human being! I am just going to go. I HATE YOU!!
Dad: Sweetie, everything I do is for you. Even when I am being Hard on you, it's because I love you and want you to be safe.
Me:I want to go..
Dad: I love you but no. You have school tomorrow. I will call your mother and ask her to pick you up on Friday after school.
You can have your Phone for the mean time. Please, princess.
Me: Ok, thank you Daddy.
So can I go see Sal right now?
Dad: No, I think your phone is a good enough bribe.
Me: Bribe?
Dad: I am your dad and I use to be young too. I know what you were trying to do. Now go back. I Will call you down to eat when it's ready.
Me: But dad, why?
Yhhh. I won the battle but not the war, obviously.
A victory is a victory and I would take it as It is.
At least I got my phone.
It Dawned on me, the only reason dad was treating me like a child was because I stopped working at his company as an assistant. I knew I had to get a job but not one where dad could monitor my whole movement.
With a job, dad would not be able to know what I was doing and I would have a good reason to get home late. It was perfect.
Now, I need to tell you guys the thing about parents. Parents are not fair to their own children. They see other people's kids as much better because they do not know what is hidden.
Growing up, my dad used to compare me with Tracy. Don't get me started on Tracy, she is a bab b***h and dad might never find out. Dad isn't the only one who fawns over Tracy. Everyone loves her and think she is an angel, but I know that's incorrect. She was one of a kind, the drinking and partying, the men, the lies. It was crazy, she was crazy and I loved her still. She was a whole mood on her own. Parents who trust their kids need to stop and the parents who don't, have to trust their kids more. That's all.
Thank you all for reading and I have something brewing which you will love❤️
