Chapter 18: Human Town (VI)
Right after Morax and Rosas killed the eldritch sprout, chaos took over the town. All the devices and appliances had stop functioning. The light stopped, the air con stopped and even some of the automatic doors were left open and some were left closed. Every citizens start to wondered and panic, but that was only the beginning. Not only the appliances and devices were taking energy from the eldritch sprout, it's the same goes with the slave collars that was used by humans to enslaved the demi human. So the moment the eldritch sprout died, the collars loses it's energy and fell off from the demi humans neck, thus giving their freedom from the clutch of the humans.
The demi humans saw this as an opportunity to escape, the men prioritized the women and children as they defended them from the humans that tried to stop them. "Get back here, slaves!" Is what the humans shouted, they don't want the demi humans to escape because the humans thought that the demi humans were their property. Both elves' and the beast man joined hands to prevent the humans from capturing them again but it's wasn't so easy, many male demi humans died in the process and the same goes for the humans. The only difference were that only males in the demi humans died and death on the humans were both men, women and elders.
"Hurry! Leave here as fast as you can! Prioritized the children's, the prince's and the princess's safety!" An elven man shouted as he confronted the humans.
"Don't let any of them escape!" "Those bitch slaves are mine!" "No! They're mine!" "Hey! It's finder's keepers!" The greedy humans shouted while arguing about who's the demi humans owner, they clearly thought of them as a mere livestock, the demi humans were clearly at the disadvantage at the current situation as they tried to buy some time for the others escape.
The humans were using swords for the knights, knifes for those who came from inside their house, cane, 2 x 2 woods and anything they can use. While the Demi humans were using hoes, sticks and woods they found. Thus, putting them to disadvantage. Those who escapes went towards the nearest forest, they had endured running for a distance towards the Disaster Forest. They decided to go there because the forest were filled with monsters and had a very dense mana, which is very poisonous to the normal humans. Upon entering the forest, they looked back and fortunately for them, they had lose the humans that were chasing them thanks to those who sacrificed themselves.
They walk a little more farther and then stopped to take a break. Now they were on their knees, crying for their lost, there had successfully escaped but it came with a cost. After letting out their tears for almost 30 minutes, one of them stood up and now standing up on top of a big rock while emitting a majestic presence. It was a young elf girl that look like 16 years old, she had a golden blonde hair, diamond blue eyes and a height of 155 centimeters.
"Listen up people! We may have lost a lot of our kind, but we have to keep on moving forward, to make sure that their sacrifice will not be in vain! They had defended us, buy us time to escaped and they died in the process! All we could do right now is to survive and make sure that the humans will not find us, we will make our weak selves strong! Stronger than any other, and then make those foolish Humans realize their mistakes by treating us as their slaves! And for using the Eldritch sprouts without care!" The princess said loudly to the demi humans to give them motivation and reasons to keep on living.
"OHH!" All the remaining demi humans heard the princess's words, they shouted as they agree to the princess's idea. Hopes can be seen on their faces, that was because their princess still mentally strong after every that had happened to them and she was able to came up with a reason to continue moving forward.
*Clap* *clap* *clap*
All of them stop cheering as they suddenly heard a clapping sound on their back. They all turned around and saw a human figure, some of them were terrified as they thought that the humans found them so fast, while some of them were enraged upon seeing the figure.
"Well done, that's a speech of the elven princess for ya," the figure said as he slowly walk towards the demi humans. One of the beast man couldn't endure his anger towards the humans, he dash at the humanly figure and tried to slash it with his claw, but he was stop the the princess.
"STOP!" The princess shouted. The beast man stopped, he looked at the princess and asked angrily, "WHY?! HIS A FILTHY HUMAN AND YOU ALL KNOW THAT!" The princess shook her head and said, "No, he's not. There's no way that's a human." The princess was blessed with unique eyes that can see mana, the moment she saw the figure, she instantly know that it wasn't a human. "What do you mean, your highness?" One of the Demi humans, asked.
"The mana in his body is different of that of a human. No, I don't think it's mana," the princess replied. She then looked at the figure and asked, "what are you? And who are you?"
*Clap* *clap* *clap* the figure clapped again as and said, "Good job, you know that I'm not a human just by looking at me." The figure's voice was manly. "And as for what I am, isn't important. But I'll introduce myself, my name is Morax Shadowbane." The man said. "What do you want from us?" The princess asked, with her eyes alone, she can tell that the man in front of them is strong. Every Demi humans can also tell that his stronger than them because of their instincts.
"Nothing special, I just came here to give you an offer," the Morax said. "What kind of offer?" The princess asked as she was suspicious of the man. "You need a safe place to live, right? I happened to know a safe area in this forest, the monsters won't attack unless you show your hostility on towards them." The Morax told them about the offer. The princess were having a hard time to decide, while the demi humans only awaits the princess decision for them, Loyally. After a few minutes of silence, the princess finally spoke.
"Before I decide, I have to ask you something, first. What is the reason for you to help us?" The princess asked. "Hmm, you will have to swear your loyalty to someone if she needs some help," Morax replied. "Oh, you don't have to worry about anything, she a good girl." Morax added. "Another question, will you gave us our freedom?" The princess asked as she's still not sure. "Of course, you can do whatever you want." Morax replied.
"So, what you decision?" Morax asked. The princess glanced at her people, only to find them waiting for her to decide. The princess look at Morax and said, "If we had our freedom, then we'll agree." Morax smiles and said, "good choice," "oh. What your name?" Morax asked as he looked at the princess. "Liwa, Liwa Foroot." The princess replied. "Well then," Morax said as he snapped his fingers and teleported all of them near the center of the forest.
