The rest of the exams not so exciting unless you love writing essays on the history of the empire and such as of now I am currently back in my lab trying after passing my alchemist exam by presenting a potion of high grade quality that I made during the exam proving my ability although the professors tried to force me to reveal how I created the crop golems but I was able to fend them off without too much trouble.
My experiments were finally beginning to bear fruit as studied the orc corpses the shaman's corpse was the most valuable as it contained a fully developed magical circuit which allowed me find alot of of flaws instead of working blindly using vague unhelpful books that most of the time didn't contain any helpful information only theories technically I could just bought another creature sooner but creatures that can use magic independently and of a higher tier are expensive plus I don't want outsiders knowing what I am researching as there were already a couple of attempted break-ins when I created the crop golems as alchemy is one of the least protected sectors of research in the empire which is why it has become nearly impossible to find any alchemy related study materials for the more advanced areas as no one wants to have their research stolen.
After I finished examining the orc corpses I began to refine their bodies into usable materials from the twelve orcs I was able to make five viable homunculi embryos which I am nurturing with potions and and mana crystals that I have corrupted with my mana because I want them to be my dungeon creatures not just homunculi found in stores.
Using the leftover materials I was even able to improve one of the crop golems which allowed me give it low level sentience and allow it to generate its own mana making it a tier two creature (for reference humans are tier five) in light of this I named it Harvest it was roughly three times the size of a regular crop golems and possessed the ability to excelerate the crop growth as well as improving the overall quality of it and seemed to be to exert its will on it's lesser counterparts essentially it was a boss monster although it doesn't seem to have many combat abilities.
As of now I am on my way to attend a noble banquet ball because I was invited by Cordelia otherwise I probably wouldn't have attended as my research is in a stage of rapid growth and development but as she has become my most staunch supporter outside of the collective I can't turn down her invitation as I done to all the others.
The ball was exactly what you would have expected from noble children putting on airs the party was fancy the clothes were elaborate the music was exceptional their tamed creatures extravagant and the people were two faced ass kissers pretending to be good friends while trying to make connections to increase their influence luckily I was with Cordelia so no one would try to recruit me blatantly in front of her although there were more than a few boys that attempted to chase me away from Cordelia out of jealousy but as I stated previously she had become quite fond of me and would prioritize me above them which I more than welcomed as she has a good chance to inherit her family even if she was competing with six others and even if she lost she was the best looking in her family so I wouldn't be empty handed.
I was pulled out of my contemplation by the the presence of the young prince although he was the 114th prince out of 373 royal children he is still a prince and judging by the look on his face I knew that what his goal was he had come to claim Cordelia Voluptas who had already become famous for her beauty known as one of the 187 goddesses of the academy but I'll be damed if I am going to allow this jack ass to take her from under my nose after I had invested months in cultivating her dependcy on me.
Cordelia:"It's good see you prince Valen"
prince Valen:"And you as well and you must be Richard Blood-Storm
she greeted the smarmy bastard who was followed by a man in ceremonial armor only I knew that not even royalty was above the academy's rules plus the fact he wasn't breathing it could only mean he was the royal family's exclusive undead known as simply an undying I just knew that he was trouble.
Rick:"Indeed prince Valen I'm surprised that you are aware of a small character such as myself"
