Allen was the one to break the silence.
"Tristan, let's put things this way, yeah?" He started, "When you actually got your powers, were you having a particularly good day?"
I cast my mind back. I first noticed my powers on the day of… being thrown in… "No," I replied, "Not a good day."
"Would it be completely incorrect of me to assume that the day you were having when you got your powers was in fact one of the worst days of your life?" He asked.
I swallowed, my mouth was dry. "One of the worst, yeah," I all but whispered, "Everyone gets their powers that way?"
Lauren brushed some of her hair out of her face and took over from Allen, "We call them your Power Moment," Lauren explained. "It's theorized by power researchers that, for every one person with powers out in the world, there's another ten or more with the potential to manifest them who haven't had their moment yet."
"And a moment is someone's worst moment?" I asked.
