As the complaints died down, Councillor Smythe turned his attention to the next problem child on his list.
"Now, Pester, I'm quite interested to hear about your impact on today's events on the battlefield," He said, resting his chin atop his steepled fingers.
"I'm… not sure I understand?" Pester replied, unable to hide her cringe.
"Oh, my apologies Pester," Smythe said with a smile, "You mean to tell me you didn't open fire on the Vault complex while it was shrouded in darkness, unable to tell if there were hostages inside or not?"
Pester stiffened up almost immediately.
"Ah, I see you do know what I mean then," The man continued.
"I… The hostages had already made their way out… I thought it would be better to use my power to do what I could to stop them from robbing the place," Pester stammered, uncertain.
