Chapter 9: The Breakdown

Rose was furious when she left her parents’ house. They were overstepping and she didn’t like it one bit.

“Mommy, are you mad at Grampa and Grammy?”

“Yes I am, honey. It’s nothing you have to worry about it. We’ll work it out.”

“Okay.”

He was being an angel today. She knew he loved his grandparents and she wouldn’t want to stop him from seeing them, but she couldn't be in the same room with them right now. They weren’t going to let up and she had to do something to prove that she could stand on her own. She was raising a child for goodness’ sake. She had her own house and paid her bills. What more could she do to be an adult?
