Chapter 7: Meeting With His Beta

Cade settled behind his desk in The Great Hall in the middle of Lobo Woods. He wasn’t often in his office. He chose to rule as an active Alpha. Anyone could stop him on the street and he would listen. It had worked well for him, but once in a while, he did need to come into his office.

Flynn, his Beta, sat across from him. “Where have you been?”

“I was finding a matchmaker,” Cade said.

“Why not use the one the Wolf Council offered?” Flynn asked.

“I want to do this my way. I’m still Alpha of this pack and I’ll find my mate.”

“So how did it go?”

Cade leaned back in his chair, remembering his meeting with Rose. She was beautiful, and he’d thought that before he knew she was his mate. Now he wasn’t sure what he was going to do, but he’d signed papers to proceed with her finding him a wife. “I had someone in mind so I approached her.”

“Is she taking you on?”

“Yes, but I didn’t tell her that I’m a wolf shifter.”

Flynn’s eyes went wide. “She’s human?”
