Chapter 36: Rival Wolf Pack

“We’ll figure this out,” Cade said.

He managed to shift Keegan off his lap without the child waking up. Instead, the boy curled up and Cade put a blanket over him.

Rose’s heart melted at the action. Cade cared about Keegan and that was Rose’s kryptonite. Keegan was her life, and she knew that letting Cade into their lives hadn’t been a mistake.

Cade took her arm and led her into the kitchen.

“This isn’t your problem to figure out, Cade.”

“We are connected, Rose. I’m not letting anything happen to you, okay? We’ll figure this out.”

“I can’t ask this of you, Cade.”

“You aren’t asking. I’m giving freely.”

She sighed, knowing he wasn’t going to let this go. She wasn’t going to be able to solve this on her own and some part of her appreciated that Cade wasn’t abandoning her. Everyone else had, but she wasn’t all alone.

That was a nice feeling.

“How is Keegan?”
