Chapter 25: Rose Follows Cade

Rose knew her curiosity was getting the best of her, but she had to know what Cade did for a living. A part of her wanted to make sure that Keegan arrived at preschool safely, but mostly she was being nosy. They weren’t really a couple, so this wasn’t exactly against any rules. If they were a real couple, she wouldn’t do this. She would stand by her need to know and convince Cade that he had to tell her.

What if she’d gotten into an agreement with a criminal element? Her parents would never forgive her. She’d never forgive herself if she put Keegan in danger. She couldn’t imagine Cade as a criminal, but his reticence to tell her was bugging her.

With her snooping justified in her mind, she gave Cade a few minutes head start then followed him. Everything looked normal when he dropped Keegan off and then headed out.
