Clyde felt Evelyn stir beneath him and he sighed. She was panting and covered in sweat, but he did not mind. He only wanted her to come back to him safely. He knew that the awakening of her fae blood would not be easy, but he knew in his heart that she was strong enough to make it through whatever trials were put in her way. He used the washcloth to wipe the sweat away from her brow and held her close. Just the feeling of touching her sent shockwaves through him and he longed for the day that he could hold her freely. He sighed and closed his eyes. This would have to do for now. She was not yet ready for him to be her mate and he needed her to grow into her full potential before he could make any kind of move. He had too many enemies and it was not wise for her to be known to the public yet. He sighed deeply and stroked her hair. He just hoped that when the time was right, she felt the same way about him that he felt for her.
