August woke up a bit dizzy from the strange dream that didn't seem like a dream but rather a hint that he should grip and never let go, searching for clues that could lead him to this person.
Sitting on his bed, he rubs his forehead with slight annoyance, whispering, "God, I wish nothing of this kind would make its appearance to me." Slowly putting his legs on the floor, he took several pieces of cloth, which consisted of a white pullover and leather pants. Putting them on, he made his way towards the laboratory to stay there alone and think about things that were to come.
August walked inside the big room with many tables staying all over. On tables stood different apparatuses used in alchemy to create various potions and mixtures to later use for other purposes.
Taking a bunch of herbs, August milled them and burned them using different temperatures, concentrations, acidity and liquid content. He had no particular result in mind but was trying to experiment.
'All of the stuff that I saw in the dreams and visions are connected somehow. I can only assume that a gravity centre of all this whirlpool will circulate this baby or this family.
But how the hell am I supposed to find them? It is the biggest question, and I don't know when things will start. I don't know where this sick bastard is and if he is still after my corpse. Well, who am I lying to? Does this bastard probably have an obsession with my family and me? Maybe it is an envy for not having a talent for the area of magic such as my own. Still, at the same time, I don't understand why I am not capable of wielding something more than divination? Even the most stupid of all mages could take a grip on several different areas of magic. Even the slightest bit, but whether I try, I hit a stone wall doing anything unrelated to my particular area.
I suppose this sick bastard was not lying to me, and I am partly elf, one of the most talented species wielding magic. Why would I be so talentless in magic other than divination? There should be some explanation for that, and there should be a reason.
Again there is this shit that sick bastard had done to me, something like a curse or charm, I don't know, but all I know is that it is hard to resist him with this invisible force.'
Without noticing, August was making some kind of potion while also thinking about why he had no answers to many questions. Getting slightly angry at one particular sorcerer was just a pain in the ass.
While being in his thoughts, August didn't notice how Vesemir walked inside of the lab, silently observing how August's hands were moving from one herb to another, from one set up of chemical instruments to another, like a flying bird that flew for so long that she forgot to notice how graceful and beautiful her skill is.
Before long, all of the processes were finished, and the result was a liquid colour of black, with the smell of 10th of nicely mixed herbs, making it hard to determine what are the original components without a recipe for the said potion or poison.
*Ahm-hm* Vesemir cleared his throat, attracting the attention of August, who was entirely concentrated on the alchemy, not noticing the surrounding.
Looking towards Vesemir, August was slightly surprised. "Oh, sorry, I didn't notice you there."
Shrugging off, Vesemir replied, "It's alright. It was quite fascinating watching you do your thing" Vesemir nodded with approval.
"Well, there is nothing impressive. After all, you were the one to teach me all of this," replied August, not taking the credit for fascination.
"Hoh", slightly chuckled Vesemir ", I don't think I can do whatever you just did there. It was quite a sight to see. You were like a Bruxa, and your hands were flying from one place to another with a lot of swiftness."
August looked at Vesemir, shrugging off the words he had just heard. "Well, anyway, I wanted to speak with you about something personal."
"Sure, go on," replied Vesemir inspecting the potion that August had just created.
"I have an issue. I think there is a curse on me," said August.
Vesemir hummed, looking at August while squinting his eyes. "Why do you think that? " Vesemir inquired, assuming that such a thing would be highly unluckily to happen with August with just the small fraction of time that he had done something. He continued evaluating, "You were out for a year, and I disbelieve you were able to do a lot of things to get a curse on yourself. Usually, the curse is reinforced by the strong emotion of abhorrence. Sorry, but I don't feel that somebody will hate you that much."
August clarified vaguely, not doweling into the details of the things, " I think it is something else, something bonded to me even before the time when I recall myself."
"How do you know?" inquired Vesemir losing the path of the story.
"I think it is somehow connected to the past that I don't remember. Related to the one that is blameworthy of that", replied August.
"Who do you think is responsible for that?" inquired Vesemir, getting curious.
"He is a sorcerer, and his name is mmmm", replied August, but instead of saying the name of a person he wanted, all he could say was just some cow moaning.
"Sorry, What?" Vesemir asked again, not getting the fool that August attempted to pull off.
"His name is mmmmmm" once again, August could not say his name. He tried several more times, and nothing functioned. Whenever he tried to say his name, mention him, or speak about him, giving any hints made his mouth sore beyond belief, making it impossible to talk.
He tried writing with his hands and speaking through his telepathy, but nothing worked. It looked like the word had a taboo, making it impossible to say it aloud.
August felt a tingling hysteria spread around himself as he cursed aloud, "What the actual fuck".
"What's happening with you, August?" inquired Vesemir, still unaware of the new condition that August had encountered.
August looked at Vesemir. His eyes revealed a twinkle of fear. August tried to leave without saying anything else, taking a potion he had just brewed. But Vesemir seeing his student's uncommon behaviour, quickly took a firm grip on his shoulder, not letting go.
"Explain what is happening, August!" said Vesemir, sensing that the things that August was fronting were quite severe.
August clenched his teeth and collected himself together, not allowing feelings to surpass authority over his reason. He looked at Vesemir and asked, "I need to do one curse lifting ritual, but I have no idea what they are asking in the text."
Vesemir furrowed as he heard how August switched the topic abruptly. Still, for him to do something like that, there should be some kind of reasoning, and it won't be an immature one. Choosing not to trouble August with queries that he is struggling to answer, Vesemir went along with August's latest topic "I know a lot of stuff, but rather tell me the text you want to take as a problem solver for the nemesis that you want to terminate."
"To lift the words
That devil sent
You must compel
And overcome
Four different blood
Must flow on you
Remember one
Shall you complete
To place of death
Your path should lay.
And the moon shall bean
Like the sun at day
As magic curse
Will go away." August spoke the words that he could find in the temple during his stay. That was the only thread he could grip on in search of a method to release himself from the curse that he thinks is slowly influencing him.
Vesemir looked at August and inquired, unable to wash away the worry for one of his most exemplary students, "This is something you are impacted by?"
August looked at Vesemir with severe eyes and shook his head, asking for no more questions.
With a sigh, Vesemir asked for the part he could help with. "What do you need help with?"
"Just tell everything you know. I have a few assumptions about most of them, but one. At the same time, I never had an experience lifting a curse from the people, so I would gladly listen to all of your presumptions. I once helped a man get away from the curse, but everything was on the surface. All I had to do was say a few words of guidance, but this is turning me off." explained August, and he was entirely right. In one year of his travels, he didn't have a lot of practice with lifting a curse that was purposefully sent upon him.
So the only way to figure out the truth would be to ask one that knows the most and can help with that case.
Scraping back his head, Vesemir once again played the words that August said in his head while also dissecting them. Before long, he was ready to respond with what he thought could be the truth about the process of the curse lifting.
"I think, first of all, you need ingredients, which could be the blood of 4 different creatures or monsters. I doubt it matters, then there is a place you will have to find, and it is obviously either a graveyard or necropolis. Still, I would rather choose the first one. And then circumstances, there should be a moon shining in the night, like a sun during the day. I once saw this kind of wonder, and it was somewhere close to the woods called 'Grand Cheery Forest'. Well, the rest would be something I have no clue about. You will have to drink the blood and wait for something to happen." explained Vesemir before adding.
"I don't know who wrote this, but it seems like something too tricky for a curse lifting."
August released an exhausted breath saying, "This is the only hint I was able to encounter."
Vesemir went close to August and hugged him, whispering, "You will overpower everything, my boy. I know all of you are powerful, but never shy away from asking for help from your home."
August was not foreseeing that and awkwardly replied for a hug with his hands around Vesemir's shoulders, "I'm sure I will, but this is something related to the family I had before. I must dive into this pile of dirt and deduce things out."
"I wish you luck, August", replied Vesemir, lightly knocking on August's head and going away, saying nothing more. August stood there for another minute thinking about the curse he was affected by and who is the reason for that curse, when he thought, "Sorry brothers, this is an opponent out of our hierarchy, I will try to fight it off alone, and if I would lose at least you all will stay safe."
///
Well, I wrote a long chapter this time, almost 2 k words. I hope you enjoyed it.
It is hard to get back at the same speed of writing after a pause, it almost feels like you lose this grip that you always have by writing daily.
Anyway, support the story with your power stone and I will smile for you one time. Thanks
