The Witch Bone

Cheng Yan, the sole breadwinner of his family, one night finds some old bone under an old tree. The origin of those bones results in his death. But this transports him back to thousands of years ago where witches not only existed but demons and spirit beasts roamed the skies and ruled the seas. Trapped in a body of the heir of the chieftain, Cheng Yan has to walk through the labyrinth of political unrest as an awakened god, in a mortal's body, to save the kingdom from his unscrupulous rivals, and save himself from jaw-dropping beautiful cousins. And the only weapon he had on his reincarnation was a string of bones. What will he do with those bones? Feed it to dogs? Turn them into bone soup? Wear around his neck as a fashion statement? Read to find out more! Note: Ahem, Froggo here, my summer vacation started and I thought "hey, why not" and started writing. My first ever prose writing ( my soul is a poet though). So, please check out and leave comments if you like it and if you hate it, I won't mind having some of your power stones thrown at me. (not kidding) ahahahahah And also do not judge my novel yet based on the synopsis. It's an "East Meets West" fantasy fan-fiction. I am going all out! Will be busy for a month. Chapter release rate will be affected. Leave a review as well. XIeXie!

I feel alive

He wanted to remove that arrogant smirk off that woman's face. And the only way to do that was to defeat this clone in the fastest way possible so that he could get out of this red space inside the Holy Tree.

Without his spiritual powers, he felt lacking but for some unknown reason, he was full of confidence that even shock himself.

He dashed towards the clone and slashed at it with the single-edged ivory sword. The clone blocked the attack single-handedly without breaking a sweat like it was anticipating the move beforehand.

He continued to slash at it while it deflected his attack nonchalantly. But then it started to frown as it felt that Bai Hua's attack was becoming fiercer and fiercer and it had to exert itself. The initial lazy movements of the clone now became more focused on Bai Hua's attack increased in momentum and strength.

Bai Hua was also amazed at his steady increase in strength, he was aware that the current him was a well-versed fighter but this increase in power was quite beyond his calculation.

"Hmmm. This weird sword seems to be aiding me. It certainly was not there among the weapons the shaman showed earlier and I certainly did not bring it with me," he thought to himself.

Then a sudden thought hit him, "Wait! Where did my anklet go? This sword looks like it is made from the same material like those bones on my anklet."

After arriving in this world he shouldn't be shocked to find a shape-shifting accessory as a weapon. But he was greatly shocked! He possessed a weapon that can transform!

Seeing the distraction of Bai Hua the clone decided to wound him as his strength was increasing at an alarming rate and went for his knee. It wanted to keep Bai Hua at a disadvantage.

But shocking the clone and Bai Hua himself, the sword deflected its sudden attack as if Bai Hua was anticipating the attack. The clone did not realize that it was the sword and not Bai Hua who had saved his knee. It thought that Bai Hua had pretended to be distracted to trick it to make a hasty decision.

It scowled at him for having deceived it with such a simple trick and became to fight more seriously. It had lost the nonchalance and lazy demeanor from before completely. Now it held a killing aura all over its body like it wanted to hack its face for pulling that trick.

Bai Hua, on the other hand, was amazed. He was brimming with happiness for getting a sword that could even help him when he was distracted. He was totally in love with this sword. And seeing the seriousness of the clone he became happier. He had finally caught its attention and it did not disregard him like before.

Feeling that Bai Hua was smiling, it irked the clone more than before and finally began its assault instead of deflecting Bai Hua's attack like before.

Cheng Yan in the body of Bai Hua finally understood what it meant to become one with the sword. He felt the consciousness of the sword and anticipated all the moves of the opponent. The angles and strength invested in each strike. The instant moment when he had to deflect those assaults without effort. He felt everything.

He finally understood the thrill of fighting. He finally felt that he was alive. That he could be more than what he was in his previous life.

He had become so focused on the fight that he totally forgot that he looked like an idiot in a loincloth with a ponytail who was assaulting a woman that looked like a fairy.
