Chapter 8 - Dinner with the Priestess

It is now dark outside.

Greus, Miss Maria, and the rest of the orphanage's helpers are currently waiting in front of the orphanage.

"That should be our visitor's carriage!"

Miss Maria then pointed her fingers to a beautiful white carriage.

It can be seen that the horses driving the carriage are of premium breed. The coach is also nobly suited. From the looks of it, it can be assumed that the person inside it is an important person.

Of course, the carriage sticks out so much that people would stare at it and wonder about themselves some things.

"Remember Little G, be sure to thank her properly."

Miss Maria looks at Greus with a serious expression.

However, Greus find it hard to answer that question. It seems that when he found out that he has become a hero, he forgot about this issue because of the excitement.

Earlier, when he found out that they will have an important visitor, Greus then went back to his room and immersed himself in thoughts once again.

Him becoming a hero, and him being fatally injured by a goblin, are two different events.

He temporarily delayed his magic development, because he feels that he can't focus that much because a weight in his heart has appeared.

So, he decided to settle things this night and find out what really happened that day.

Just as he feels Miss Maria's stare is getting more serious, Greus replied quickly.

Then the carriage stops in front of the orphanage. The coach then went down from his seat then opened the carriage door. It can be seen that his actions are very refined, as if he's done this many times before.

Then, a beautiful girl in a white priestess robe gently walk down the carriage.

Miss Maria and the other orphanage helpers bowed their heads in respect.

However, Greus is still looking at the beautiful girl in a daze.

This is the first time Greus stared this long at a girl. Of course, in Seia, there are also girls that can be considered as charming, but Greus would not stare to this extent at them.

This priestess girl is about the same height as him, has a long wavy black hair, round eyes, and an alluring smile is plastered on her face ever since she made her appearance, and it seems that her...

"Little G! Bow. Down. Quick."

Hearing Miss Maria's silent but 'deadly' remark, Greus immediately bowed his head down reluctantly.

After a while, when the girl is now standing near them, the girl spoke.

"Greetings! My name is Eliena Friez. I am one of the priestess in the Holy Capital Obsden. I am very sorry for not properly introducing myself the first time I came here."

After hearing those soft words that are pleasant to the ears, the orphanage's receiving party all calmed down a bit then raised their heads. Of course, Greus also raised his and sneak glances at Eliena.

"No Priestess Eliena! You don't need to apologize because we understand that you are still in the process of doing something that day. In fact, we should be the one thanking you for accepting our humble dinner invitation and also, for saving one of our kids here."

Not used to hearing Miss Maria saying words with full respect, Greus wants to laugh but summoned his will power to stop himself from bursting out.

"Oh, no, no. Since I have finished my business in this town, I also want to enjoy myself and thought that your dinner invitation should be a good start on enjoying in this town."

Eliena then paused for a bit, and continued to speak.

"...Also, it is a priestess' duty to save those who are in need."

Miss Maria then bowed again to show her deep gratitude and then eyed Greus sneakily.

Then, Greus saw Miss Maria looking at him and he immediately knows what the gesture meant.

Greus then stepped in front of Eliena and bowed his head. Though he really has no idea how this girl ended up saving his life, he decided to proceed because nothing would change the fact that she is his benefactor.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you priestess Eliena."

Greus said with sincerity, then proceeded to bow. It is now Miss Maria's turn to summon her will power to not laugh, for seeing Greus acting like this, is really a rare case.

Greus maintained his head bowed as he waits for Eliena's response.

However, Eliena seems to be silent. No traces of emotion can be seen on her face.

Then, finally Eliena spoke.

"Please raise your head. We are of same age so it doesn't seem right for you to be bowing at me that hard. Also, as I said earlier, it is a priestess' duty so please don't mind it that much."

Eliena said slowly and smiled at Greus.

"Priestess Eliena please..."

Miss Maria then gestured his hand at the door as if to signal Eliena to enter the orphanage.

Of course, Eliena gladly took the invitation and proceeded to walk with Miss Maria.

Greus and the others followed suit.

The sumptouos dinner then started and nothing really happened.

Eliena talked to Miss Maria and the other helpers. Giving advises and talking about her job and the Holy Capital Obsden.

Then, Eliena seems to like kids and engaged a little with them. Of course, initially, the kids are quite shy but in the end, the kids ended up liking her.

Throughout the dinner, Greus just constantly sneaked glances at Eliena, however it is not that he likes Eliena.

Sure, she is really beautiful, but that is not enough reason for Greus to be that interested in glancing at a person.

The reason is that, somewhere in his mind, it is as if something is getting tugged everytime he sees her.

However, he really has no idea what it is. So, he can only test multiple times to see if something might happen but unfortunately, a part of his mind is just getting tugged no matter how many times he glanced.

Then the dinner came to an end and Eliena waved goodbye to the people from the orphanage.

"I would like to thank you all! I had a good time in this humble orphanage of yours."

"It is our pleasure priestess."

Miss Maria said and bowed. The others followed suit as well.

Eliena waved and bowed, then proceeded to walk in the carriage.

Then as if Eliena remembered something, she suddenly looked back and spoke.

"Oh, Miss Maria I would be waiting for that cookbook of yours so please send it to the address I gave you earlier."

"I'll have it delivered before you go home priestess."

"Then I'll be on my way now."

Eliena then looked towards at Greus momentarily. Greus didn't miss this and just stared back at her, with an unreadable expression.

Eliena then smiled and walked inside the carriage.

The coach then closed the door, bowed to the orphanage people, then proceeded to drive the carriage with elegance.

Then, they all watch the carriage go on until they can no longer see it.

Of course, neighbors are interested at why such a big shot dropped by the orphanage so they now reached out to Miss Maria and the others to get some news.

Greus has no interest in this so he leads the kids to go back to their respective bedrooms then proceeded to his room himself.

Greus then lied down on his bed, an unsatisfied expression can be seen on his face.

"Something is definitely up. I know it!"

Greus muttered. He has this gut feeling inside him that something really has happened, and that priestess is hiding something from him.

"She is still in this town so I should definitely make my move."

Greus wants to confront and ask her directly, unfortunately there is no chance to talk to her alone this time.

With the determination to know the truth, Greus continued to lied down and thought of some things until his eyes grew heavy, and he fell asleep.
