Was I Dying?

(From Demetrius's Perspective)

I did not know exactly what was wrong with me. I just did not feel like myself. I felt weak and just wanted to stay alone in the tent. I got scared when at one point, I wished even Blue would step out for a while.

Maybe it was because I did not want to show my weak self to anyone. I was not afraid to show her, however, I was afraid of her knowing that I was so weak that I probably would be useless when it came to protecting her. What if she did not want a useless husband?

"I broke his nose," I said.

"Evan's?"

"Yes. He broke your hand."

"Fractured," she corrected.

"Whatever. He took the punch and waited for more. But really, he looked too sorry. I was going to punch him again, but… I am not strong enough to even give two punches."

"He healed his nose quickly," she mumbled.
