Chapter 02. Love does make people go crazy

CHRISTIAN POV:

"Boss we are about to reach the venue." I nodded to Kate (my assistant), Luca and I have known each from middle school. we haven't seen each other for a while. Luca loves his wife and daughter every other he organizes a lavish banquet on his anniversary.

Love does make people go crazy. I looked outside the window; we were at the lakeside of manner. Luca does know how to spend money on things. Kate opened the car door and followed me closely. 

My footsteps halted when my eyes caught a distant figure in the dark. She kneeled and held a white puppy close to her chest.

"Boss??" Kate interrupted my thoughts. I looked at him and went inside the venue. Luca's assistant was there to welcome me and he directly took me to Luca.

"CHRISTIAN!!!! Brother it's been so long since we met each other, you should often come to gatherings like this." Luca put his hands on my shoulder. I looked at him, if someone else tried to get near me he should be dead by now.

"Hmm? Kate, how are you? It's been a long. Are you still single?" Luca and his behavior are unpredictable. How? Ashley agrees to marry him, but both are opposite of each other.

"Luca, congratulations on your new deal." He smiled then and looked at me strangely.

"Christian, are you dating someone, by looking at you without any date by your side, you must be single." I replied lightly "When you know about it then don't have to ask me" It's not new to his interest in my dating life next level.

"You know what I have someone in my mind, you both will look good together" He circled his eyes around the venue before I could reply to him Luca's daughter ran towards us. Ashley came into view when she saw her holding her father's legs. She smiled at me "Long time no see, Christian." I nodded at her.

"Dad, I lost EL, we are playing hide and seek in the garden. I lost EL." Luca kneeled and replied "Don't worry let bodyguard uncle find EL" her sweet and childish voice complaining about something.

"Aunty will feel bad if she knows" Before Luca said anything, she started running towards the door again.

"What happened? Why are you running Ray?" Ashley laughed "Ray found EL".

I looked towards the door Ray talking to a lady, who was around 168cm tall and beautiful. I saw her before beside Lakeside holding the puppy in her hand. So, Luca knows her. She picks her up and walks toward us.

I don't know why but with every single step she takes, my heart pounded so fast, I wonder if anyone can hear it. Everything feels burr to me. In her presence, time surrenders its pace, lost in the allure of her elegant grace. Her curves, like lines of sonnets traced, Each inch a stanza, tenderly embraced. Her exposed warm ivory skin and, those cold hazel-brown eyes are enough to drive me insane. her juicy nude pink lips make it hard not to stare. In the rhythm of her poetic sway, I find myself lost in her lyrical ballet. 

She stops in front of Luca and Ashley puts down Ray. Her black classy attire looks like a dream to me. She smiled at Ashley and hugged her. Luca taps my shoulder and those smug eyes stare at me then he looks back at her.

 Luca mentioned my name, I wish I knew what she thought when he introduced me. With every syllable, a whispered sigh, Her lips, an invitation, I can't deny. Then he whispers something in her ear and I want to know what he said!!

Luca mentions her name, which makes me smile like an idiot. Luca whispered in my ear "Stop looking at her with those eyes, she will run away" I gave her a small nod and smiled at her "Nice to meet you, Lina." She looked at me and replied in her soft and cold voice.

Luca winked at me, made an excuse, and went to handle another guest with Ashley and Ray. We stared at each other for seconds then she broke the ice with her queries and her direct replies made me drown towards her. Our conversation only lasted for a few minutes and she gave me her business card. I looked at her, so she was looking for property. I will have plenty of chances to meet her. I turn my head in the direction she is ahead.

"Boss?? Mr. Patrick wants to talk with you, he's waiting in the backyard" I gave him a cold laugh, interesting he has the guts to face me again "ok".

When I reached there, he was standing in the dark "Good to see Patrick, have you found who leaked your documents" he smiled with a hint of killing intent "Yet not, but I want to know when did I offend you"

"NOW" I put him at my gunpoint

"you shouldn't be here and look for me when you know, I CAN KILL YOU" I like to see the fear and hate he has towards me "Christian, Davis didn't know he is your brother."

 A few days back Louis went to the library to read books in the evening but when we came back he had serval bruises and wounds on his face. He didn't say anything and I know my brother never fought with someone until and unless that person provoked him. After some time when Kate reported the whole matter, Patrick's middle brother Davis went to the library and fought with Louis because he thought he was the guy with whom his girlfriend was cheating. When Patrick found out about what Davis did, he came to Louis and apologized but he had to pay for Davis's action, Kassie hacked into his company system and leaked deal details to his opponent company group.

 "Your apology didn't solve the enmity I have for your brother."

I patted my gun on his cheeks and whispered, "Patrick, protect your brother if someday I want to kill someone." With my cold laugh and his fearful eyes, I left the backyard before I lost my temper. My footsteps echoed on the marble floor as I walked inside the venue.

I stopped in the middle of the venue and said to Kate "Kill it" Now I have no interest in staying in the venue. My eyes wove through the venue to find Luca but I found Lina's soft caress of moonlit verse, as she emerged, a seductive universe. She stood in front of the round table.

 I saw Luca and Ashley talking to Lina but their expression didn't look right. As I reached the table and heard Lina's cold and threatening voice.

"I am not interested in dating." Her words echoed in my head. An unknowing smile appeared on my face. Somehow, I found her cute, she sounds like an angry kitten.

Lina didn't know I was there and when she turned her body slammed into me and fell into my arms.

Her warm and sweet vanilla fragrance assaulted my senses.

When she looked into my eyes, I felt like my soul pulling inside those eyes. I didn't like her sudden push to maintain distance between us but she lost her balance I pulled her again into my arms. The intimacy between us and the warm sensation sent an unknown electrical spark into my veins. I can feel her fast heartbeat and nervousness in those eyes. My hands around her waist tighten.

 Her warm hands on my chest push me to let her go. She looked at me and thanked me for helping her. Her bodyguard stood in front of her and without looking back she left.

Luca and Ashley who saw the whole scene came to me and smirked at me "I think you finally found someone to raise your interest but you need to do a lot of hard work. If you need her. She is not like other women, Ashley, and her family tried to set her numerous blind dates but every time she rejects them."

 I can't resist myself to ask "Why?" Ashley let a long sigh "If you want to know you should ask her directly." Ashley looked at me "If you are serious about her then go for it, if you are not then don't try." There was unknown sadness in Ashley's eyes.

 Luca tapped on my shoulder "I hope she gives you a chance at least." I nodded at him. "it's already late, so I taking my leave. Enjoy your night." I left the venue.

When I got inside the car Kate looked at me with sneaky eyes. I knew what he wanna ask me. I opened my mouth and told him "Find out the good location in Italy, and give a report as soon as possible."

He smiled at me "So, you finally ready to let go of your monk life?" I replied to him cooly "Shut your mouth if you don't want to lose your job."

He snapped me back "I'm not your assistant right now and I don't do overtime until and unless it's important." I ignored his wry to diss me. Kate and Luca were my only friends, I met them in my first senior year of college. If not for that incident we would never be friends.

"Christian, do you want her information or background check?" I replied "No need."

"By the way I saw before an article about her, she is so famous and rich. I heard few celebrities want to date her and even few tried to approach her." An unknown feeling burned inside me "Don't look at me with those cold eyes." I stared at him "How do you know so much about her?"

"Haa! You are the busy one, have you ever looked outside your work? You don't know that she owns a fashion brand" "Even though she is a producer and one of the famous singers, she works as a stylist for close friends. Few celebrities around the industry chance to wear her personalized artwork. She's one of the mysteries around the industry because of her rare appearance in the media. Last year her concert was a huge deal…" I can't hold my burning curiosity "Why?"

Kate glanced with gossipy eyes and replied to me "Last year her 7 days concert ticket got sold out and huge celebrities were also there but on the last day after her last performance she lost consciousness. Before her bodyguard or assistant notices her behavior an unknown man out of nowhere holds her and carries her off the stage. The most iconic thing is she tries to hide that man's identity with her bare hands, even though she's on the verge of losing consciousness."

He continued "Everyone thought that man was her boyfriend but after some time her agency said that they were close acquaintances and did not believe any rumours. No one knows who was that man. those who try to circulate pictures online have their account blocked or banned. A few months ago, in an interview one of her fans asked who was the handsome man in concert. she said he is someone she trusts and even she is neither dating nor interested in dating anyone at the moment." I thought her kind personality over her cold aura. If she not dating a guy then who is he? My body leaned against the seat. an unknown tightness occurred in my heart.

 Kate's voice gets back me to reality "Christian, I hope you can win her heart. My condolence with you." I smirked at him "I don't like it when it is easy"

Kate parked the car outside the villa before I got out of the car, I asked him "Are you planning to stay here tonight?" Kate nodded and tagged a longed inside the villa. "ok"

I went inside the villa, George my housekeeper waiting for me, he bowed and welcomed us. Kate and I were going inside the individual room. I threw my coat on the chair and went to the bathroom. I stood under the cold shower; water droplets were trailing over my body. After 15 mins I get out of the bathroom.

After showering, I go to bed directly but my curiosity for her didn't subside. I scrolled through my phone and found some articles, but there was minimal information about her like nationality, height, weight, a few paparazzi, and concert pictures. I don't like to use Instagram but last year Kate made my private ID to send memes. I searched her name and her ID popped into my screen. Her last post was about music notes.

I scroll through her dark and classy aesthetic profile. She had 120M followers and Kate, Luca, and Ashley were also following her. I put my phone aside a turned off the lights. I have plenty of time to know her.
