Chapter - 82
As expected, the fall was steep, a dizzying plunge into the unknown. When Jacob's body slammed into the rocky ground below, a sickening crunch echoed through the chasm. Pain erupted through him like an explosion, sharp and unbearable. He lay sprawled on the ground, unable to move. Every breath felt like fire in his lungs, his chest heaving with effort.
Darkness enveloped his vision, the air around him heavy with an eerie mist that clung to his skin like icy tendrils. Jacob tried to push himself up, but his limbs refused to obey. His left leg was bent grotesquely, the bones protruding at an unnatural angle, and his ribs sent sharp jolts of agony through his torso with each labored inhale.
