Jeff then led Stacy through the broken fence and walked around looking at all the destruction. There were bodies everywhere scattered around.
Stacy said, "Why would someone do this?"
Jeff said, "I don't know. But it has to be serious for someone to come here and destroy this place. Massacre all these people. Let's look around search for a reason."
Stacy nodded with a fearful expression, she hugged Jeff as they made their way inside of a building. They walked into the closest building and everything looked normal. Some signs scattered on some counters, they looked closer and saw that they were like the sign they had seen.
They looked around this building before they walked out through another door. They arrived in an area between the buildings, there was some vegetables being grown. They were in some makeshift flower beds.
After looking at this area and sighed. They felt sad about all this lost potential, this would have been such a great place.
They then walked into another building and were immediately assaulted by a foul smell. Turning on their flashlights, they walked down a hall before they went theough the only door.
They were instantly shocked and when they recovered they started puking their guts out. In front of them was a butcher's room, which would have been normal. However, their were guman body parts litterally everywhere. Buckets filled with guts, body parts hanging on meat hooks, and blood all over the place.
When they finished puking, Jeff said, "I see now." Stacy nodded her head as her face was scrunched up, hugging onto Jeff for support. They immediately walked out of the building and exited the compound.
They walked to the car and got in, Jeff turned the key and looked at the gas level. They only had 20 miles left before the car would run out. They looked around the area while they tried to calm down. In their heads, they kept thinking about what would have happened to them if this place had not been destroyed.
In the area, there were no cars at all, so they could not salvage any gasoline from them. Stacy said, "Why don't we follow on of the tracks?"
Jeff said, "Okay. How do we decide?"
Stacy smiled as she pointed at each set of tracks, saying, "Eenie meanie miney mo, catch a tiger by it's toe, if he hollers let him go, eenie meanie miney mo." She stopped at last and pointed at a set of tracks.
Jeff said, "Alright, we follow these tracks then." Jeff then started driving down the tracks, it was very bumpy as the sides of the track were uneven. They only made it 18 miles before the car ran out of gas.
Sighing, they both got out of the car and grabbed their bags before they started walking down the tracks. They walked for about 3 hours before they took a rest, sitting atop a log. They ate some kettle corn, and rested for about 20 minutes, before they continued their walk.
After about 7 hours, they started to hear some loud noise and they saw some corpses walking towards the noise. They put their guard up as they continued down the tracks. Jeff would destroy the head of any walker that came towards them, using his fire axe.
Jeff had kept his axe with him ever since he had gotten it, the wood was now stained with blood and the blade was a little dull. Jeff had tried to sharpen it, but he could only do so much.
As they got closer and closer to the noise they were able to see better what was making the noise. They saw many men cutting apart shipping containers and moving them onto a flatbed truck.
One of the men saw them looking at them and ran over to an intimidating man wearing a black jeans and a leather jacket. The jacket had wool lining the collar, it was a dark grey color and had a zipper pocket on the left cheat. The most striking feature about him though, was the katana on the mans waist. The sheath was totally red, the handle and guard were white and black respectively.
The man looked over at them and Jeff was honestly very nervous, but he showed none of that on the outside. He watch as the man walked over to them, he seemed totally unconcerned about the weapons they had.
The man stood in front of them, about 5 feet away. He said, "I am John. Who are you?"
Stacy spoke first rather nervously, "I am Stacy and this is my boyfriend Jeff."
John looked at them closely before he said, "Where did you come from?"
Jeff said, "Helen, Georgia. We saw a Terminus sign and we were running out of supplies, so we decided to go there."
John smirked and said, "Did you like what you found?"
Jeff sighed heavily then said, "No, the place was dreadful. I can't believe there are fucking cannibals, especially when those corpses are eating people as well."
John smiled and said, "Good answer. How many walkers you killed?"
Jeff thought for a while before he said, "Walkers? You mean corpses right?" John nodded. Jeff answered, "I don't know how many. A couple hundred would be my guess."
John asked, "How many people you killed?"
Stacy said instantly, "None."
John asked, "Why?"
Jeff said, "I've never had to."
Stacy said at the same time, "Killing is wrong."
John nodded at Jeff, before he said to Stacy, "Your thinking is naive. Sooner or later you will kill another human. That or they will kill you."
Jeff had a thoughtful look, while Stacy looked conflicted. John then said, "Anyway, you passed my test."
Stacy asked, "What test?"
John said, "The test to join my group. Of course."
John turned around and told them to follow him. They paused for a second before they followed after John. They looked at the men cutting the containers and Stacy asked curiously, "What is all this for?"
John turned back and said, "The wall." They then walked forward as Stacy tried to get more info.
They arrived at John's car and got in. They sat in the back as John started the car, John then sped off, hitting 60 mph in seconds. Stacy screamed and Jeff looked surprised. Jeff watched as John maneuvered the car, drifting at turns.
They arrived at the prison quickly and both Jeff and Stacy were surprised by the 10 foot wall that almost completely surround the prison. John drove to the gate and entered before he parked.
He got out of the car as Jeff and Stacy followed. Sarah came running over to John and started to talk to him, she suddenly saw Jeff and Stacy. She hid behind John's leg as she peaked out,she looked at them for a second before she ran off to play with some other kids.
John then led the two around the prison and introduced them to some other people. Jeff and Stacy were very enthusiastic when they talked with others. They hadn't talked to other people in so long, that they were excited to talk to people and get to know them.
For as long as the apocalypse started, it was like they were the last people on earth and finally meeting new people lifted a weight off their shoulders.
After introducing them to several people, John brought them to Dale and had him help them get situated. John then walked off and went to his family. John sat down and Maggie moved closer to him, giving him a smooch. John then talked with his ladies as they watched Joey, Cassy, and Charlie play on the ground together.
