Chapter 5

When I woke up, I saw Amy and Andrea sleeping on my chest. I quietly snuck out of the tent and went to Rick's, when I arrived, I said, "Rick we need to talk about leaving this camp with or without them". A minute later Rick came out and said, "We should talk to the group about it. I think we should try Fort Benning, plus the CDC is on the way". I said, "Okay, either way I'm bringing Amy and Andrea".

Then everything went as the show depicted happened, except Amy stuck close to me since I saved her. Merle was with us, and Morales's family stayed with the group. At late evening we arrived at the CDC, I looked around outside and saw tons of corpses on the ground. I walked over and started stabbing the corpses in the head, some of them reacted, while others didn't. Then the group went to the front door and started banging, minutes later a 9 year old girl and a man in a lab coat with a rifle in his arms, opened the door and let us in. He said, "You can stay if I can have a blood sample. I am doctor Jenner and this is my daughter, Sam". So we gave him a sample, except me, I went last and just used mind control to make him believe he already did the sample.

Then Dr. Jenner led us to a dining room and we ate, Amy and Andrea sat closest to me, then Rick and his family next to us. He showed us to the bathroom and everyone got 3 minutes of hot water, so the girls and I went inside and washed for 9 minutes. Then, after everyone finished in the showers, Jenner showed us to our rooms, and we slept.

We woke up in bed, we got up and got dressed. I was wearing a white tank top, black jeans with a belt, and my black boots. I grabbed my weapons, geared up, then we went to the dining hall. When we arrived, the table was set and T-dog was making powdered eggs. We sat down and began eating, when we finished Jenner brought us to his laboratory. After, everything went as the show depicted but Sam decided to join us, now we are standing at the glass of the front window. Everyone was freaking out because the doors were locked and they couldn't break the windows. I shouted, "Everyone calm down, I can get us out. Back away from the windows". Then I walked to the window, took the grenade out of my pocket, pulled the pin, left it there and ran for cover. Shortly after the grenade exploded, shattering the glass.

Then we ran outside, to the cars and drove away. On the road the RV broke down in front of a car graveyard. We made a half circle formation with the cars and RV. I got out of the RV followed by Amy and Andrea, then said to them, "Stay in the formation or at least close to it", then said loudly for the rest of the group to hear, " Kids will stay in the formation and unless a walker gets in, are not to leave for any other reason. Let's scavenge some of the cars and see what supplies we can find". Dale was teaching Glen how to fix the RV, Daryl and Merle stayed to defend the formation, Daryl was on top of the RV with binoculars and a crossbow, all other men went out to scavenge, the women stayed with the kids.

I was about to leave when Carl asked, "Can I come with you", I looked at Rick and Lori, they nodded, then I said, "Sure, let's go". Then we went out to scavenge, I saw a big truck, so I went over and took Yami out of my inventory and also three suppressors, then acted like I found them in the truck. I put a suppressor on my glock 16 and tied Yami to the left side of my waist. I also found a grey backpack and some candy in the truck, I put the backpack on and the candy inside. I popped the hood and took the radiator hose because I thought Dale could use it to fix the RV.

Then we searched around some more until I found a dirtbike in the bed of a pickup truck. I took the dirt bike down from the truck, Carl played on it while I searched the truck for the key. I found them under the driver's seat, I went over to the bike, filled it with some gas I siffoned from the truck. Then started it, got on with Carl behind me holding on, I grabbed the clutch, shifted into first gear and rode back to the formation and parked it.

We went in the formation, I brought the radiator hose to Dale and Glen, while I did that Carl went to the kids to play. Shane had found a delivery truck full of huge jugs of water. Then Daryl said, "Everyone there's a hoard of walkers heading this way". I said, "Everyone hide and stay quiet", then Lori made a scene talking to Rick, she said, "I can't find Carl, I think he might have went out to scavenge by himself. Carol can't find Sophia either". I walked over and said, "Calm down I'll go search for them", I took off my backpack and handed it to Rick, then quietly snuck out.

I looked around, searching for Carl and Sophia. I saw 10 walkers crowding around a car, I crouched down and quietly approached. I unsheathed Yami, stabbed one in the head, then skillfully cut off 3 of the walkers head. There were 6 left, I pulled my pistol, shot the 4 that were farthest away and stabbed the two approaching walkers in the head. I went to the car, looked inside and saw Carl and Sophia inside. They pointed behind me, the hoard of walkers was coming towards us. I said, "I'm gonna fight them, DO NOT LEAVE THIS CAR, do you understand me", they nodded.

I walked away away and yelled, " Come on". I fired 5 shots hitting 5 walkers in the head while backing up and reloading. I put the empty clip in my left pocket, I put the glock on my right waist, and held Yami with both hands. I advanced towards the walkers, keeping aware of my surroundings. I started to cut walkers down left and right. I ripped through them like a wild beast, when they would surround me I would use kicks or stab them with my knife sometimes. When I had killed all of them, I was in the middle of a 40 corpses, soaked in walker blood. I walked to the car, where Sophia and Carl were, I said, "All clear, you can come out".

Carl slowly opened the door and saw me, he got out and said, "Are you okay". I said, "Yeah, just some walker blood on me", then Sophia came out and they both said, "I'm sorry for sneaking out". I said, "It's ok, just listen next time, or ask so we know where you are, in case something like this happens. Good job reacting quickly and keep yourselves safe, that's all that matters".

Then we walked back to the formation, I guess Daryl saw me killing the walkers. He told them and caused an uproar. So when we got back, some people were defensive towards me, but not the ones I cared about. I just ignored the stares and walked over to a water jug. I opened it and poured it on myself and got cleaned up. Rick, Lori, and Carol came up to me and said, "Thank you", I said, "Don't worry about it, our group has to be like a family if we want to survive". Then Amy and Andrea ran up to me, and slapped me. They said, "You idiot, you could have died", then they kissed me one at a time.
