Chapter 12

When I woke up, I sat up and started the fire again. Some of the group was awake, I said to Rick, "We have to clear a cellblock, to keep warm". Rick said, "Yeah, Me, You, Daryl, Glen, and T-dog will clear it". I said, "Sounds good, lets wait for everyone to wake up, then eat a little and go clear it". After an hour the whole group was awake. Rick told them our plan, Carl wanted to come but I said, "We need you to protect the group, little man". We made a small breakfast, which I gave most of mine to the girls. They looked at me lovingly and said, "Honey, Dad, You need to eat", I said, "I'm fine, you need it more than I do".

After breakfast, Rick and I with the small group go in to clear it. We easily killed a couple dozen in the courtyard, there were also 4 guard zombies that had riot gear on. We killed them by stabbing them under their helmet's visor. There was another gate with a dozen walkers so I went in with my spear and quickly stabbed or sliced at their heads killing them efficiently. With the entire courtyard cleared, we secured all the doors. We took a small rest, then went inside Cellblock C and cleared it slowly making sure to kill all the walkers. When we finished, we were exhausted but still managed to drag all the corpses out to the gate of the courtyard.

Then we sat down on some benches and let the rest of the group come in. After a short break, me and a group of people ran over to the cars and brought them inside in the prison field. I now had a jeep that I found because the dirt bike was unrealistic in the winter and Daryl had his brother's motorcycle. Daryl and I put our bike in the bed of a truck the group was using. We came back to the group, they said some of the girls and Hershel went inside Cellblock C, and cleaned the cells. I just nodded, I went to the truck and had Daryl help me get our bikes down. Then I got into the truck, I drove it to the courtyards gate. Then I started loading walker corpses on the bed of the truck. After I filled the bed of the truck I drove it out of the main gate. I stopped a couple miles out and dumped the corpses in the woods. I did this 8 times before all the walker corpses there were all dumped there in the woods.

I went back to the prison and it was evening. I walked into a watch tower near the courtyard gate, I climbed the ladder and cleaned it. I also set a large soft quilt on the floor to sleep on with my girls. I walked back down the stairs and went into Cellblock C. I found Amy and Maggie in one of the cells, I said, "Come with me, I have a suprise". They said, "Really what is it?", I replied, "Follow me and you can find out". We were about to leave when Sam came up to us and asked, "Where are you going?, Are you leaving me?", I said, "No, you can come if you want".

We then walked out of Cellblock C and to the watchtower I set up. We went up the stairs to where I prepared, I walked over to my bag and quickly bought 3 sodas and a chocolate bar from the system, then acted like I took it out of the bag. I walked over to them and gave the sodas to them, then I broke the chocolate bar into 3 even pieces and gave it to them.

Their faces immediately brightened, but then said, "You don't have any?, I said, "Go ahead eat and drink, do worry about me. Everything I do, I do for you". They looked at me and smiled, then I heard Rick yell, "Jack we're clearing another section of the prison, you coming?", I yelled back, "Yeah give me a sec". I looked at Amy, Maggie, and Sam, then I said, I will be back soon", then I kissed my girls, and then Sam on the forehead.

Then I quickly got ready and went down the stairs. I still had my shoulder holster with colt m1911 in it, glock 16 on my right waist, tactical knife on my left waist and my spear, but I broke the spear in half. Now it was only two and a half feet instead of six feet, the blade was starting to crack. I walked over to the group, which consisted of Rick, Carl, Daryl, Glen, Hershel, and T-dog. We went into another part of the prison which should have the Commissary. It was dark in this area because the lights were off and there were no windows. We used flashlights and spray painted arrows on the walls to keep our bearings. Many of the cells in this area wear open and there were some corpses on the ground. We continued down the corridors, making turns here and there, until we went around a corner. There were a large amount of walkers in this tiny place, so we ran back the way we came but there were walkers. We ran through the corridors, Glen and Carl got separated but went into a room. We continued on and found a safe room, we then made a plan to regroup.

We then made our way out of the room and went back to find Glen and Carl. We walked through the corridor, I saw Hershel hear something, so I followed him. He went to step over a walker when it grabbed him and tried to bite, but I was fast and quickly stabbed it with the short spear. He went into shock and started breathing heavy, which caused the group to come to us. This also caused a group of walkers to to come after us, we then ran until we found a door that was locked with handcuffs. I used a little strength and cut through it with my spear, which ended up braking the blade, we went inside and it was a commissary room.

We put a metal bar in the door handle and took a rest, we heard a noise and saw a group of 5 prisoners. They came out of the storage area with weapons, one of them had a gun. When they were all out, I quickly pulled my glock from my hip and shot the prisoner with a gun in the head. Then I shot the rest in the head before anyone could properly react. I went over to their bodies, then I took the gun, it was a .22 caliber revolver. I then looked in the storage area the prisoners came out, I came out with a smile and said, "We got food". Rick looked at me and said, "How do you know they were bad?", I replied and pointed at each one, "Crazy Murderer, Coward, Coward, Big and Dumb Murderer, Backstabber", Rick said, "How can you tell", I said, "Military Experience, I could see it in their eyes".

Then the rest of the group looked in the storage room and it boosted their spirits. Then Rick said, "We have the food, now we need to clear out this section of the prison to get the food back to our cellblock". We opened the door slowly and one at a time. Quickly killing off the walkers that followed us to the room. We then walked through the corridor clearing the section as quickly as possible. When we finished and double checked it was clear and not compromised. We went back to the commissary room and started transporting the food to our cellblock.

When we finished transporting all the food, we went to clear the rest of the prison. We slowly and carefully cleared the other cellblocks. We found the infirmary and brought back all the medical supplies. These supplies will help a lot with child birth. Anyway we found where the breach was in the prison. One of the walls had collapsed and there was a hole in the fence because of it, but it was still fixable and we could always just lock the doors leading into the prison.

Then we went into the cellblocks we cleared and brought the walker corpses to the courtyard. By the time we finished it was late evening, so we went back to our cellblock. When we got back, there was already some food cooked. I saw Amy, Maggie, and Sam sitting at a table eating rice, beans, and some canned meat.
