An Intruder

Liana turned towards the man who defended her, unable to say anything. It was Prince Maximilian. The prince she had once mistakenly slept with.

"Prince Max! I-I didn't mean to badmouth Lady Liana," Lady Seraphina stammered.

"You clearly spoke ill of Lady Liana, didn't you?" Lady Vivian took this opportunity to undermine Lady Seraphina. Both of them were known to compete for the position of Crown Princess.

"But I-"

"Why don't you evaluate yourself instead?" Prince Maximilian continued. "You still depend on your fathers for money, don't you? What will you do if the support stops? Marry to find a new shelter? Or become the mistress of an old wealthy nobleman?"

Everyone fell silent, as it was a reality that happened among noble girls who were suddenly bankrupt.

"Then why do you mock someone who works hard to support themselves?" Prince Maximilian added.
