Chapter 3: The Cousin

Noah Kovacs' POV

I was rubbing my face when I was seeing the chart of Sheila's health. The craving should have not come before she went to the first kill. This is something else and I know that only he can answer this. I was rubbing my mouth as it dried out when I was standing outside of Aaron's office. I knocked on it before I changed my mind.

"What?!" He shouted before he opened to door. It was past midnight but I know that Aaron rarely sleeps. The virus made sure of that.

"Oh, it's you. Come on in," he said before he was looking at me. I was sighing before I took a seat and Aaron was grabbing two-pack of blood.

"Here," he said as he was taking the seat opposite of me before he was punching some straws into the blood and drank it. I did the same before I felt the craving was strong.

"So, how was she?" He asked as he was throwing the blood pack out into the trash bin. I sighed as I threw it as well. The meal has been eating me from the inside. I did not know how to control it anymore. Only the medicine helped me to function like a normal human being.

As if Aaron and I were normal anymore.

"She was hallucinating. I don't know what to do as I can only give her more dose to control the hunger. We need to get out of here now, cousin," I said as I was staring at him. He was deep in thoughts before he snapped his eyes to mine.

"Have you been noticing something strange in the virus level of Sheila?" He asked and when I did not answer him, he stood up.

"Bloody hell!"

"I tried to control it but it won't work. I don't know why. Maybe she was too strong for the medicine to overcome her craving," I said as I stood up as well when Aaron was pacing back and forth in front of me. I sighed before Aaron stopped in front of me.

"Have you done it?" He asked. I arched my eyebrows at him.

"What do you mean?" I asked him. He tsked me as he was looking at me menacingly.

"You have sex with her, right?" He asked me as I felt the blood was on my face.

"That was very personal you know!" I exclaimed before Aaron laughed at me. He shook his head before he sighed.

"Now I know why. She craved that. You have been giving a taste of that and now she wanted more. It can be only blood or sex that she craved," he concluded as I was grimacing.

"You do know well that I cannot have sex with her in this stupid facility. We have to make our move now," I hissed at him before he was looking at the board that was having so many pictures and coding. Only Aaron and I can read it. If people see it, they think we were obsessed with pictures.

"Very well," he said as he was looking at me. I nodded before I went to the door as I was looking at him one more time.

"Have you find her yet?" I asked as Aaron shook his head.

"I think she did not want me to be found. But no matter, you know I have advantages to my charms," he said and for the first time, I saw his canine and it was scary.

"I hope you do know to control yourself," I said to my cousin. He laughed

"Of course, coz. What do you take me for?" He asked me. I rolled my eyes.

"An undead human,"

"As well as you," he retorted before I slammed the door and I went to the lab. Aaron has agreed. It's time to make my move now.

Sheila Belmonte's POV

I was tossing and turning again. I don't know why I always been that way. Can I not just tossed and turned in my sleep? Maybe roll out of bed so that I will be out of this nightmare. I sighed as I was looking at the dream again.

There I was, standing in front of the burning forest when I was looking at the people who were looking frightened at me. I don't know if it was a dream or maybe it was a memory that I don't know I have.

"Please, just go," a woman that was in her mid-40s was staring at me. She was crying as I noticed the tears that were streaming down her face. She was hugging someone as he was trying to protect her.

"Please daughter, just goes and never to come back again," he said as he was hugging that woman.

Daughter? Am I someone's daughter?

I was smirking as I felt that dream was surreal somehow. I don't know what I will do but I know that I raised my hand and fire was coming out of them. People were running as I was floating in the air looking at them, scattering and scared.

"Worship me or you will die," I said in a voice that I don't know I have it. Until someone was shooting something to my feet as I felt it burned. I turned to look. It was a female that was playing cosplay? She had all the leather jackets and wicked-looking weapons around her body.

"Begone, devil, and may God bless your soul!" She shouted before I was being thrown to the ground. I was screaming for the pain before two figures stood in front of me.

"Do not worry, we take care of her," a voice that was being ruffed so that it cannot be detected.

"You!" The female that hurt me said as the other person, the one that did not speak was turning toward her and she gasped.

"We meet again, Miss Hunter,"

"You again! I thought I kill you," she retorted before I was being held by the first person as the other was trying to distract their attention.

"Alas, I am undead. Maybe you should check your weapon next time," he said before the fog covered the ground and we were running—

I gasped as I was looking around before I was seeing everywhere. Where was I? How could I get here? The memory was burning my mind as I was holding my temples.

"Easy, you're burning," Noah's voice was in the room as I was looking at him. He was calm and when he touched me, I was instantly calm and my burning was controlled.

"There we go," he whispered before he poured some water and I took it hastily as I was thirsty as fuck right now. I don't know what was happening to me but the memory was still in my head.

"Noah, I have a dream. I don't know what happened but everything burns. Everyone was scared and I don't know…," I said as I was crying before Noah was hugging me. He shushed me as if I was a frightened baby and I was holding him.

I cried and cried as I was trying to control the fire inside me. I don't know if it was real but I think I can burn something right now but not Noah. He was calm and cool to the touch. He welcomed me and I welcomed him.

"Shh, it's alright, my love. We will be gone soon. They cannot hurt you anymore," he said as he was kissing my hair and I hugged him even more. I don't care where we're going as long as Noah was with me, I know I will be alright.
