Family reunion

Thomas stared at the System's message unamused. What's wrong, he wondered.

 [You should remember, there is a thing called "Law" in this world, if you kill someone here in public, you will be arrested. You're too weak for now.]

'So, in your opinion, what should I do?'

 [Play your part. Regain all the memories of your demonic version, and become the strongest one in this world]

'What do you mean? I thought I had all my precious memories.'

 [Far from it. As I said before, you lost memories of both lives. Not to mention older memories.]

'What? Older memories?'

 [Did you think this was your first reincarnation?]

'I don't know.'

 [Not. And I am here to help you recover all those lost memories]

Thomas was speechless.

 [ Did you think that becoming physically strong makes you powerful? Humans have many powerful magical weapons that could erase you faster than a blink. So don't cause trouble for now. At least obey the laws]

 ….

 [Listen to me. I will help you. I will make you adapt to this world, regain all the memories of your most potent lifetimes, listen to me, and you will be a demon king in no time]

 'Demon King, huh? I wasn't even allowed to be in regular hell, and now you want me to become one of their rulers?'

 [ To be fair, no one from regular hell ever became a demon king. No mortal soul ever became a demon king before. You will be the first. A demon king first must undergo a trial of "The Cage" for thousands of years until he adapts to that place. After a demon is no longer suffering inside "The Cage," that place will spit him out due to it no longer being able to suck out any energy from the person; this is why Royan broke the rules and took you in instead of your sister. He has high hopes for you.]

 'Huh? But wait. I think I had help with leaving the cage.'

 [You probably imagined it. Do you hate Royan? Do you want revenge for what he did to you?]

'No. I was not too fond of Royan for maybe the first few hundred years. However, I even blamed my sister when I was suffering. Even if he didn't do that in hopes of me becoming a demon king. Even if he did that just for entertainment, I would have done the same thing. After all, amusement is essential for a demon.'

 His conversation seemed as if it took hours in his mind. However, in real life, it was only a mere moment.

 His mother still looked terrified. And that did put a smile on Thomas's face.

 " Dear mother, are you all right? Shall we go? I hope I didn't scare you too much," Thomas teased her.

 However, she called his father to pick them up, saying she felt unwell and didn't feel like driving anymore. His father came 20minutes later. He took a bus to go here. He was outraged that he had to leave work 2 hours early. But unlike Thomas's mother, he didn't let his frustration take over in a public place. They all drove in silence, while Thomas's mother was still a bit shaky due to the immense horror that Thomas killing intent showed her. In about 20minutes, they were finally home. And Thomas knew what was waiting for him. He couldn't control his facial muscles, and once again, his face lit up with a devilish smile.

The moment they went inside, his father finally started his lecture.

 "Thomas, do you understand what you did? Because of your silly prank, you missed school for three weeks." His father said in an angry tone.

 'Is this guy for real? My suicide attempt is a silly prank? What is wrong with you people?'

 His brother came out of his room. He was waiting for three weeks for his toy to return.

 Arthur leaned near the wall and smirked. "Hey, big bro,"

Thomas ignored him and went straight to his room and locked the door. Father was frustrated that Thomas didn't answer him and started knocking angrily.

 "If you don't open the door, I will kick them out and beat the crap out of you," he yelled at Thomas.

Thomas unhurriedly opened the door, and while his father made a triumphant smile, something happened that he did not expect. Thomas slapped him with all his might and knocked out some of his father's teeth.

"Sorry, dad, let me give you a hand," Thomas said in a sarcastic tone as he gently grabbed his father's hand and squeezed it with all its might crushing it. 

Everyone stood speechless. Thomas's brother stood there and watched it with terror in his eyes. The person he constantly bullied, as weak as a dog, hurt his father and crippled him.

" Oh, hey, little bro, I didn't see you there. Come, hug your big brother!~"

 Thomas said in a singing voice while his aura retook the shape of a cat. He grew cat's ears, and cat's tail and eyes were of a feracious cat's. Only his condition was a human; everything else was a ferocious animal. He started walking toward his brother.

"You… Stay away.." Arthur was terrified.

Thomas completely ignored Arthur's words and said:

"What an interesting family we got here. We love hospitals, don't we? First me, then dad and little bro on the same day, haha" He laughed while holding his brother's arm and squeezing it hard enough to break it.

However, his mother regained her motherly instinct to defend Arthur and pushed Thomas away from him. She knew she wasn't his match, but she could still use her own body to protect little Arthur from Thomas's fury.

"Well, at least you can be a mother for that loser. For me, though, not so much. It was you who separated me from family. Even father was better than you. Even though he hit me often, he defended me when he saw Arthur abusing me. However, you encouraged it. Oh well, whatever. Hehe.'

 "Thomas's, please," Arthur cried, pain and fear taking over him. "NO, STOP!"

Thomas stomped her leg, breaking it, but she did not say a word and silently wept. Thomas's smiled and went to his room. Thomas knew he wouldn't be punished too harshly because he had become a valuable magic user, and this kingdom needed as many influential magic users as possible. He went to his room, found his headphones, and watched a movie on the computer. 

"I wonder where Monica is."

The only one who was missing from this family reunion was his sister. She was taking extra magician classes in school due to her immense talent. Unlike her twin Arthur, who had pure magic power, she also had a knack for using it. She also played a massive part in developing her class's reputation. So She never came home early. Honestly, most of the time she came home, it was dark outside. She's a real nerd, isn't she? 

"Not like it matters, though."

However, Thomas had no grudge against her. She has never abused him nor defended him. She was just a bystander. So Thomas doesn't have to hurt her like the rest of the trash. But he wouldn't help her if she was in trouble either. Four hours later, he finished two movies and went to rest.

 [System is now gaining the ability to erase and rearrange host's memories]

When he was watching the first movie, the ambulance came in. His mother shouted how Arthur was severely injured and needed medical attention. She ignored that her father's injuries were way worse, and he might never be able to control his hand ever again. Thomas crushed his father's hand bones, after all.

"How is he? How's my baby?" Mother kept after Arthur was taken away.

"Hehe." Thomas was laughing as he watched his family carried away by ambulance.

With an ambulance came the police. However, neither the police nor the doctors did not try to question Thomas. In their eyes, Thomas is a powerful Magician or a mutant. So instead, they called for backup from MMLO(Magicians and Mutants Law Organisation). They came three hours later due to non of the officers taking this case seriously. And Thomas heard a loud knock at the door.

"Come in," Thomas told them. He wasn't surprised about this turn of events due to the System's early warnings. Now Thomas knew what this organization was all about. The only thing he needs now is for the System to erase some of his memories and create alternatives; however, erased and changed memories only last for 5minutes. Even less than that if his mental energies were higher than now. So dealing with these people as soon as possible was actually to his advantage. Once he becomes too powerful, this particular System option will not be available.

"Hey, is your name Thomas Walker?" the officer politely asked him.

 " Well, you're looking for Thomas. Do you see any other non-injured people in this house?" Thomas replied.

 "HaHaHa. My name is Johnson Miller. I am from the Magicians and Mutants Law Organisation, and I suppose you know why I am here, right?" Johnson asked.

 "Oh, I suppose you're here to suck out my brain, brainwash me, or do other horrifying things?" said Thomas severely, trying not to laugh.

 "What? No, where did you get that idea? Whoever spreading rumours like this needs a good beating" Johnson was highly irritated.

Even though MMLO is an organization created to keep regular humans safe, it gets lots of hate due to punishing mutants and magicians. The world is controlled by the same people this organization was made to observe and punish. So obviously, many dark rumors will spread about it.

"So, you came here to ask for my part of the version?" Thomas smiled.

 "Indeed," Johnson replied.

Even though this organization punishes magicians and mutants, it isn't biased. They constantly check both sides of the story. And the best part, they always bring a magic item that can check memories. If both parties agree to tell the real story, they never use it. However, if reports contradict each other, they offer to use them. And with consent, they can always find out the truth. Or, in my case, my point of fact.

 [Memories manipulation is initiating]

 "I want you to check my memories instead, and then you will understand everything," Thomas replied with a cold voice. Thomas's sudden declaration shocked Johnson. It's a rare case that someone would take the initiative for a memory check. All erased memories were of his previous reincarnation, System, and his abilities. Everything else fits perfectly into the picture.

"Are you… Are you sure?" Johnson asked.

 "I have nothing to hide" Thomas smiled.

 "All right then, Greg. Bring in the screen." He called for another officer. It was at this time that Thomas's sister came home. And she was shocked, instead of seeing her family. She now sees a bunch of strangers.

Greg brought him a thing that looked exactly like a regular pen and paper.

 "All right, this is gonna hurt a little" he used a pen to puncture my finger, a little blood came out, and the pen's tip turned red, and he used it to write my name on the paper. Paper change became colorful, and it started showing Thomas's memories like it was a television and it was showing a movie. Johnson had a notebook, and he kept taking notes. He saw all the abuse Thomas had endured before. Johnson witnessed how they treated Thomas after he left the hospital. 

"Oh my god. What's wrong with these people?"

He saw all the hostility that began after Thomas entered the house. What does this mean? These memories prove that Thomas is innocent and the real victim. Powerful awakeners are always treated with caution because they are walking weapons. However, this kid was abused from his teenage years. And now that he has become a powerful awakener, he will want revenge.

 "It's over, well. I hope you'll have a nice day, Thomas. Don't forget, not all people are like them, and MMLO will severely punish them if you demand it for how they abused you. You could have called authorities a long time ago. " Johnson smiled; however, he was a bit worried about the new awakener that was abused for so long. How will this kid adapt now? He couldn't feel glad there was a unique genius in the Elemental kingdom as this person might become a peril to the whole domain or even the world.

 "Goodbye for now, and before I forget. Please come to this address tomorrow. Since you're a new awakener, your level needs to be confirmed by authorities" Johnson gave Thomas his card and left.
