"Did you notice anything?" Louis asked after a few moments of silence.
"I think so," Mauve mumbled.
"What?" he asked, his voice closer.
She turned her head to look at him, her expression shifting from horror to confusion. "At least three of the books are missing."
"The others aren't?" he asked.
"I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure these three books," she pointed to three different sections on the shelf, "don't belong here."
"They should be in here somewhere," Louis said, glancing around. "Do you think you could find them?"
Mauve's eyes widened as she did a little spin. "Find them? Have you seen the library?" she asked.
"That's the only way we can be sure something did happen," he said.
"I think we already have enough proof," Mauve replied. She couldn't imagine how long it would take them to find these books. The library was massive, and each shelf was stacked with books.
