Chapter 36: Safe and Sound
Gwen tossed and turned in the bed with Logan beside her. Her breathing picked up with each movement, as whimpers spilled from her lips. She had spent every night since they brought her home with night terrors about Elijah finding her again.
Each nightmare had kept her from getting much sleep, and Logan was beyond exhausted from combating them.
Logan peered over at her and wrapped her up in his arms, fighting against her thrashing limbs and shushing her. He ran his fingers through her dark hair and closed his eyes, focusing on projecting himself into her nightmare.
He found her chained and cornered by Elijah, trembling and cowering from the werewolf. Logan roared, shifting his eyes to a burning crimson and baring his sharp fangs. He took off towards Elijah, pouncing onto the beast and ripping him limb from limb until there was nothing left.
