CHAPTER 44

SHRANAIA’S POV

I’m not sure if removing my hand from my face is the right thing to do. But when I carefully lifted my hand from my face, I noticed myself in the mirror frowning at me. “Don’t you want to get revenge on the wolves that killed your father and mother?” she said, but her deep voice that I was scared of remained.

“Why are you showing to me, Rudina? What do you need from me?” I asked, and she shook her head.

“There are things that shouldn’t be asked, Shranaia. I know you want to exact vengeance on them, and I can help you if you let me use your body,” she replied solemnly, which worried me.

I held my breath at the possibility of what may happen, and I remember what happened that day because I had lost myself. I’d like Fergus and Faustino to get out of my way, but if everything depends on her, I’ll lose control once more. I averted my gaze, then turned away from her and gazed out the window. Outside, I noticed an enormous number of guards, which I guessed was part of Vixen’s strategy.

“I can’t leave the cabin anymore,” I said to myself.

“I can help you if you help me too, Shranaia,” she said, and I turned to her and frowned.

“What do you mean?” I wondered.

“You’re not going to let me use your body, so it’s in a different way,” she said, then smiled at me.

To be honest, I don’t understand a lot of what’s going on, but I also want to get out of here since I’m going to be imprisoned here until they forget about the sin I committed. I sighed, then glanced at her, then peered into her eyes to see if she was telling the truth.

“All right, what is it?” I said, and she smiled pleasantly at me.

She informed me what I was going to do, and I nodded to her in answer. I know she is more skilled than I am. I left the room and went to the library to search for the book she mentioned. Yet, while looking, I came to a halt when I noticed something peculiar. There was a shining book there, and just as I was about to take it up, someone appeared.

“Shranaia?”

“Rara…”

“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be resting? Are you done talking with Vixen?” she asked, and then I nodded.

“I just want to read, and I’m a bit bored,” I reasoned, then she nodded.

I looked at the book that was shining, then I quickly took it and put it behind me, and took a deep breath. I think I saw what Rudina was saying. Anyway, I took another book and sat down, pretending to read. Rara didn’t ask me anymore and just accompanied me to the library to read.

While reading, I didn’t realize that Rara was gone and that she had left. I returned the book I took from the shelf, then I left to tell Rudina that I got the book she was talking about. When I got back to my room, I looked for Rudin, and she couldn’t be removed from the mirror. I showed the book to her, and she smiled at me.

“Now cast what I will cast,” she said, then I nodded to her.

I agreed with everything she said. The worry in my chest dissipated as I saw Rudina was not only taking it easy. I closed my eyes and dropped to the floor as the light flashed around the room. As I woke up, I felt something unusual in my body and realized I was still in my room. I'm not sure what happened when Rudina performed what she did earlier, but something feels different in my body.

“Shranaia?” I look at the door, then straighten up.

I rose up, opened the door, and Gena came to me with food. “Looks like you just woke up,” she said, and I grasped my head.

“Oh... yeah,” I merely said.

I let her in, then sat her down and placed the food she had brought. She said Vixen didn't disturb her since he knew I was sleeping. Yet, to be honest, I slept really well after falling asleep earlier. Gena and I talked some more before she left, and then I looked at the food she had brought.

I simply sighed and then took the meal and ate it. I clenched my eyes firmly when a memory flashed through my head. I’m not sure what it is, but it appears to be related to Rudina, especially for a beautiful lady who has a gentle face. I went to bed after I ate since I was exhausted. I haven’t been able to change my clothes because I feel like I’m going to fall at any moment.

“Rudina.”

I frowned when I heard a voice. I’m alone in my room, so it’s impossible for anyone to be around. I just ignored the voice and then went back to sleep, ignoring who was calling Rudina’s name.

“Shranaia.”

As it called my name this time, I grimaced since I recognized Rudina’s voice. I quickly got conscious, sat down, and covered my mouth as she appeared in front of me. She simply smiled at me before stepping away in front of me, and I sighed a sigh of relief. She walked to the window, then looked at me, and my eyes widened as she jumped, so I rose up and followed her.

“Rudina!” mahinang sigaw ko.

But when I followed her, she was no longer there, and I looked all around, but I couldn’t see anything other than the guarding wolf soldiers all around. I put one of my legs on the window, and after that, I jumped gently. I don’t know why I do it, but I do it anyway. The soldiers looked at me, but I immediately hid my sense of smell and turned into a bat, and then I flew away.

They didn’t see me or even notice me, and when I got away, I immediately changed my form, then I was held in my chest. “I didn’t expect to escape,” I said to myself, then looked around. “Where am I?” I wondered to myself.

“Shranaia.” I turned to the person who called me and followed her voice.

I didn’t know where she was going, but I followed her anyway, and honestly, I felt like Rudina was just playing with me. I don’t know what she plans, and I don’t know what she can do. Little by little, I felt something close to the Mystic Pack, and when I got there, I saw it again, and at that point, everything got even worse. I don’t know why I’m here again or what I’m doing here.

“What’s going on?” I wondered.

“You have no idea how much pain our species suffers at the hands of wolves. Even though they are not as powerful and capable as we are, you know that you can save them and even change the course of events in the future.”

I looked at who was talking and frowned when I saw Rudina, no longer a child but a beautiful woman who can captivate anyone, and honestly, even in the dark, I can see the attractive color of the eyes—a mixture of green and red. Anyway, I looked at the Mystic Pack again. At this time, there were no tears in my eyes.

I don’t know what the people of Valley Pack plan to do to them, but they can’t make it difficult like this. I held my head, then closed my eyes tightly and felt the pain. I don’t know why I see things that were Rudina’s old memories.

“What’s going on?”

“Still, don’t you understand what I’m saying, Shranaia?”

“How can I understand if you’re not doing anything else but making me chase you, Rudina?” I said, annoyed, and then she smirked.

“You and I are one.”

After she said that, I slowly raised my eyes, and then I frowned at her. I kept seeing the memories of it in my mind until I saw the memory I had for a long time that should have been forgotten. My memory of my parents is especially vivid when they had a hard time and were mercilessly killed right in front of me. I closed my eyes even more tightly and shivered because of the pain I was feeling.

“What you say is not true. I’m a wolf, and I’m not a vaewolf like you,” I said, then I forced myself to stand up and tried to leave, but I was dizzy.

“You are a vaewolf, and I know you feel something strange about yourself, Shranaia,” she said, then she looked at me.

THIRD PERSON’S POV

While Faustino and Fergus were busy, they felt that there were other people around them, so they became alert. Daecon, on the other hand, was just watching all around and waiting for Shranaia to appear. He will not stop Shranaia, and he will not let her get hurt. This time, it's not because he wants Shranaia to be with him, but because it might happen when she can't control herself.

“Have a look around. Shranaia is probably just here,” Fergus speculated as he gazed around.

“The full moon is not good today,” Faustino replied, looking at his son.

“That’s why they have to keep an eye all around,” Fergus explained.

Shranaia's appearance altered at that point, and she stared at her pack and smiled strangely. Vixen felt odd as he entered Shranaia's room and glanced around.

“Fuck it!” he said, annoyed, and then he quickly changed his form, and then he ran towards where Shranaia was.

The soldiers immediately followed Vixen, and when Gena saw that Vixen had left, she immediately woke up Rara, Ron, and Ran. When they woke up, they followed. Even if they don’t ask, they already know what’s going on. While running, the appearance of lycans and other wolf packs worried them even more.

“What's going on?” Gena asked one of the lycans.

“Rudina is out of the book. We need to find her now,” he said, then he looked his way.

Gena pondered what he said before focusing on her path. As they got to Mystic Pack, everything was in disarray, and the houses were on fire as if a hurricane had come through and caused a major tragedy. Vixen went straight for Shranaia, and when she spotted her, she accosted her. Shranaia was holding one of the wolves, who was struggling to breathe due to what she was doing.

“Shranaia,” he said softly to her.

When the woman turned to face him, she gave him a killer grin that caused his hair to rise up on his body. Vixen was at a loss as to what to do first or how to calm Shranaia down. Shranaia threw the man she was carrying and looked around.

“Shranaia... let’s go home,” he replied gently.

“He’s just here,” one of the Lycans muttered, and Shranaia turned to face them.

Shranaia ran, and Vixen and the other lycans rapidly followed. Vixen scowled, then Daecon followed him, and Deacon attacked the Lycans at that moment. Vixen kept following Shranaia, and when she stopped and glanced at Vixen, she altered her posture and quickly attacked him, and Vixen’s eyes widened.

Shranaia sprang up and then killed the enemy, which made her pleased, especially when its blood poured on her face. She cleaned her face before licking the blood from her palm. She snatched one of them and drained its blood, which gave her enormous power and increased her thirst for blood.

“Shranaia, please!” Vixen begged, but she vanished like a bubble, and Vixen followed her again.

“Follow her!” said one of the Lycans’ leaders.

Shranaia looked for Fergus and Faustino because she had no other purpose but to see the two of them. When she saw them, she immediately looked around and quickly took the sword held by one of the soldiers. The excitement on Shranaia’s face grew even more when she saw it.

“Rudina!”

Shranaia turned to the woman who had called Rudina’s name. “Don’t you know anything other than to stop me? You always stop me from doing what I want to do!” she said angrily, then she looked in another direction and quickly disappeared.

“Stop it, Rudina. You can’t control that body,” she said while pleading.

“This body is my only key. Another thing is that she also likes what we do. She wants to get Faustino and Fergus out of her way.”

She lifted her sword to slay the attacking opponent before glancing at him. Faustino confronted her when she did it. “I’m glad to see you again, Shranaia,” he smiled.

Shranaia, too, smiled at him. “I’m glad to see you, Faustino. I may be happier if…” Shranaia licked the blood on the blade she was holding. “If I could stab you in your heart with this sword,” Shranaia laughed loudly and then stared at Faustino.
