The Awakening

I woke up and sat on the edge of my bed when I heard a creaking noise coming from my roof. Then all of the sudden my roof gave in with a crashing boom and a man fell through."AHH, What are you doing?" I yelled. The strange man jumped up and took off bursting through my door. I grabbed my scythe and took chase. "Stop!" The man looked back and tripped over a plow. "What were you doing on my roof? " I yelled holding my scythe down at the man." Please spare me, I was hiding.","What were you hiding from?" I asked, just getting more confused."People… I was being followed, they were trying to kill me." As the man was talking I heard yelling behind me, a group of tall ugly beasts were running in my direction "Oh no I didn't want to do this." The strange man said, His muscles began to roll and feathers started to pop out and he bent over making an ugly hissing sound, what stood before me was terrifyingly strange. " What is going on? "I yelled "No time for questions! If you don't want to be torn to shreds by my pursuers I would suggest hopping on my back."

I didn't give it much thought as my options looked far better with him. The moment I hopped on his back he took flight. "What is happening, I must be going crazy, Ogres chasing me, a strange man falling through my roof and turning into this giant bird, I must be going crazy." I thought to myself as we soared through the night sky.

I looked down and tried to make sense of what was going on but I couldn't help but be mesmerized. I took in the amazing view, even at night I could see what looked like small houses with small amounts of light creeping out from the windows and doors. Way off in the distance I also saw the king's city with his spiraling towers and great walls being lit by torches.

I had so many questions but right now I felt it was not the time to ask. After what seemed like hours we slowly started to descend into a heavily forested mountain range. The moment we landed I jumped off. "What is going on? "The man or bird thingy looked at me for a second and began to transform once more back into his human form. "Hey, turn around!" The man yelled. I stood there for a second and turned away quickly, embarrassingly covering my eyes." Can you toss me your shirt?","Yes." I said quickly as I tossed it in his general direction.

After he had wrapped my shirt around his waist he said "That's better ... .I'm sure you've got some questions for me? ","Yes for starters what's your name?"
