Cursed

Katelynn stared at the sleeping Klast.

He just received a 'punishment' that she does know what. However, from how tired he is now, this is the perfect opportunity.

She stared at him for a while. Looking at his sleeping face, even though it's mostly covered, Katelynn found him good-looking but that doesn't mean anything. Seeing that face, she could remember the explosion and the head of her father.

It fills her with rage and gives her the motive to get her revenge.

'I thought I couldn't do anything and I just have to stick with you... but since the perfect opportunity just arrive, I have to take it.'

Katelynn thought and looked at the fork she holds. She didn't think that there would be a time she would plan a murder with the fork she just used to eat.

Fortunately, it's not plastic.

But...

Katelynn found something amiss.

"This is too perfect..."

She would never trust her luck. There should at least be a catch or something. Although she has terrible luck, that doesn't mean she can't accomplish anything. But the effort she has to give should be at least twice before she can get any results.

This made her skeptical.

'But if I don't act now, this chance may never come...'

This placed Katelynn in a dilemma. It was frustrating and revolting.

She's not a coward and she's full of rage, however, she couldn't act just because it's too 'perfect'

Then... when can she get her revenge? Any opportunity should be a perfect opportunity since she's weaker than any ordinary. Is it a deadlock?

"Wait..."

She then pondered and decided to let the chance slip away.

'Killing him would be giving him mercy... I'll have to make his life as miserable as I am.'

This was the conclusion she arrived at. The reason for her change of mind was the thought of what would happen in the future.

By a miracle, if she was able to kill him, what then?

She lost her reason for living. Surely, the people there wouldn't take kindly of her actions. Knowing that the people here do not hesitate to kill, what would happen to the unkillable her?

Prison?

Torture?

Or is there something much worse?

Therefore, Katelynn could only play passively which she always does.

It's depressing how powerless she is, however, at the very least, she will make herself into a parasite.

'Sooner or later, he will try to kill me again or just throw me away. At that point, I don't know what to do...'

Katelynn ended her ponder and decided to get another food. She finished the food that wasn't spilled onto the carpet. Yet, her stomach was still growling. After ordering the same thing with some additions, she has to wait for four more hours. This made her gravely sigh.

"What do I do with the utensils and the container?"

She asked but decided to just ask the masked man later once he arrived.

"No, actually, what time is it?"

There were no windows there nor a clock. Since she fell asleep earlier and woke up still feeling a little drowsy, it must be midnight.

Katelynn decided to just continue her sleep while waiting for the food.

"But... where do I sleep again? There's only one bed."

She clenched her fists. She had the urge to kick Klast out of bed and use it. However, she still doesn't know what his reaction would be so she restrained herself. He might hit her back, she wouldn't know.

"I guess I'll sleep on the carpet."

Katelynn already cleaned the carpet with some small towels she found. Of course, there's a bathroom there. It wasn't a cell or anything. There's even an air conditioner and that's why the temperature is fine even without any windows.

She laid down and the only good thing was the fact that Klast wasn't using the blanket nor the pillow. He was immediately knocked out cold.

Because of the hunger, it took longer for Katelynn before she could sleep unlike earlier where she didn't plan on sleeping at all.

Eventually, though, she fell asleep.

"Don't I... have school... tomorrow?"

She muttered before there was darkness...

...

-

I didn't know where I am. I just know that there's no light. Yet, I could see something on the ground.

I walked over to it and finally, the shadow covering it disappeared.

It's my father.

He was the only one who really cared for me. Even though mother died when she birthed me and even though I've been a curse to the family, he never blamed me.

I always saw him hurting.

Yet, when talking to me, he smiles.

He tries not to show the sadness and frustration he felt. That's what I call a father's love.

If mother's alive, would there be two people loving me?

That would've been too good. Too good for a cursed like me.

But even then, do I deserve it?

... because of me.

"Because of you."

He died.

"I died."

Father's head, detached from his body, staring at me. He finally blamed me.

I'm sorry.

I wish I've never been born.

Since I can't die, I'll just live this hell. I can't have redemption but I can still get revenge.

A toy? A tool?

Let's see who suffers from keeping me.

Katelynn woke from her dream. She could feel the tears trickling from her eyes.

As she opened them, she saw a man sitting on the bed next to her.

He just stares at him while she stares at her.

"..."

He lifted his arm before pointing at the door.

"Your food."

That was when Katelynn heard a knock. She didn't expect him to get it for her so she didn't complain. However, she just thinks that it's rude to make the delivery man wait.

'So you just stared and waited for me while someone was knocking at the door? What a creep...'

She thought before opening the door and apologizing. After she got her food, Klast then spoke.

"Eat... then we'll go."
