A Clumsy Athlete?

Aiden's POV:

(Yawn)

I got up from my bed and looked at the clock to see what time it is now...

What?! It's already 7:15?! Why didn't my alarm clock ring? Oh, I forgot to set it last night. It's so stupid of me!

I ran immediately to the comfort room to take a bath and brush my teeth. Afterwards, I also changed into my uniform and rushed in fixing myself.

Oh no! I don't want to be late in the first day of school!

"Mom, I'll go now!"

"Wait, aren't you going to eat breakfast?" My mom asked worriedly.

"Nope! I'm gonna be late for school already! I'll just eat on the school later... Bye, Mom!" I bid goodbye and ran outside the house without waiting for my mother's reply.

I am currently running very fast because I'm afraid to become late today. It will do me nothing good if I will be late for the first day of class. Prestigious schools are very strict when it comes to rules and regulations so I'm sure that they will close the gates when it's already time.

Speaking of, the guard is already closing the gates. No, no, no, no, I won't make it! It's a good thing that I'm an athlete and I'm used to jumping on high hurdles. After all, I'm a member of a Track and Field club during elementary.

"I have no choice but to use my last resort... This is my last hope."

I stepped backwards to get some force and have a running spurt... Hopefully, I can manage to jump the high pointy gates.

I jumped high enough to get inside the school somehow. But I went straight ahead the tree in front of the gate that's why my forehead bumped into it.

"Ouch! That hurts!"

I was rubbing my hurting forehead when a soft voice talked to me.

"Hey, are you ok? Do you know that what you did just now was dangerous. It's fortunate that you only got some scrapes on your forehead but what are you going to do if by chance, your head is the one that got hit just now? It can result to blood hemorrhage that can lead to your death. Come here and let me take a look at your forehead. Just be careful next time, ok?" The beautiful girl said worriedly while wiping my forehead lightly with her handkerchief.

"I'm so sorry if I held back your time. By the way, what are you doing out here? Aren't you supposed to be in your class right now?" I asked her.

"Ahh... That's because I am the Student Council President this year so it's my duty to have my rounds and ensure that all students must be inside their classroom by this time. I'm supposed to punish all the stubborn students that are late for the first day of class but don't worry, I'll let you of the hook since you arrived just on time. You should go now to your classroom and I won't say anything to the head teacher." The girl winked at me and smiled softly.

She's so cute!

"Thanks! Um, can I ask what's your name?"

"Oohh... I'm Sophia Bailey. How about you?"

"Oh no, you're that famous Sophia Bailey?! I'm sorry I didn't recognize you at first... It's because I just saw you at a distance before during the entrance ceremony when you had your speech on the stage so I didn't get to see your face clearly. You see, I have some eye issues and... that's that. I'm Aiden Velasco. Please pardon me if I have shown you my embarassing side."

"No, it's fine! I don't have any bad feelings about you not recognizing me. And don't apologize either for what I've seen earlier since I think you're more like a cute little kid messing around to his heart's content rather than a stupid high schooler."

"Excuse me?!" I was shocked about what she said. I didn't expect she has that harsh attitude.

"Hahahaha! I'm just kidding. You don't need to take that seriously! Although I'm serious about what I've said you being cute!" She giggled adorably and what she said made me blush.

"Thanks again... Don't worry I'll return your handkerchief immediately once I washed it."

"You don't need to bother yourself to return the handkerchief to me. You can keep it!"

"Oh no. I can't possibly do that Ms. Sophia. I just can't. It's just that I've troubled you so much and I can't allow to trouble you any more than I already did as to keep your precious handkerchief to myself.

"Ok. Let's just say that my handkerchief is the symbol of our friendship starting today. You can drop the honorifics and just call me Sophia."

"But..."

"No buts! Go to your classroom now or else the teacher will scold you badly!"

"Ok... Goodbye! See you around!" I am waving my hands at her while running at a tremendous speed.

"Yeah! See you around!" She shouted back at me while also waving her hands.

I like her... She is beautiful, responsible, intelligent and what's more, I was amazed by her kindness. She doesn't belittle anyone just because she's superior to other people when it comes to academic or position ranking.

I didn't notice that I was smiling while running. It's like I'm on a Cloud Nine.

"I wish I'll see her again soon!" I whispered to myself.

But I know that this is not the last time I'll see her since her classroom are pretty close to mine. She is an honor student so I'm pretty sure she belongs to the Star Section 1 which happens to be in front of my classroom, Section 2. I'm looking forward to talk to her again.
