The turn of events

Distinct chatter, "he was asking about you and I didn't know what to say to him. you could have informed me. you know!"

"Ugh!" He groaned and muttered something under his breath and walked to the kitchen to put the cup.

The dining hall was apart from the kitchen, no one from the dining hall could see who is entering the kitchen.

"Good morning, Hridhaan Sir." Said two servants when Hridhaan entered the kitchen.

He nodded at them, brought the cup in the sink, turned to them with a smile, and wished them Good morning His parents were still arguing with each other. He talked to the servants about some things. He talked to them a little bit more and then started to walk away to his room. He was in no mood to have breakfast with his parents, he was going to skip it. He was walking, his thoughts on skipping breakfast, and nothing else.

"Hridhaan?" His mother called out to him from the entrance of the dining hall.

He turned around and saw his mother standing not far away from him. He smiled at her and said, "Good Morning, Ma."

"Come have breakfast." His mother offered him.

He didn't want to decline her, so he nodded and walked towards the dining hall. He didn't want to hear about how important breakfast is from his mother, she had said this multiple times to him.

He entered the breakfast hall and wished his father stiffly Good morning and went to sit to have breakfast. He could feel the tension lingering in the air which could be cut with a knife.

His parents never fight in front of him or his younger sister, Arya. It was like saving them from hearing their argument, but they forgot they were always loud enough for both of them to hear what was happening between them.

He was soon enough done with his breakfast. He said his goodbye to them and left from there. He then headed to his room to take his work stuff.

He was in his car ready to leave for work when his phone pinged indicating the arrival of a message. He thought it was from her, he took his phone and looked at the screen but was disappointed it was not from her, it was from his secretary, Paul. He had texted him regarding an important file. He replied to him and left for office.

Hridhaan was driving but he was now reducing his speed, as there was traffic in front of him, numerous cars were lined up on the road, honking horns.

He looked at the time in his wristwatch, it was quarter before seven. At this time the traffic was always smooth, he wondered how the traffic jam had started this early.

He hadn't moved from there for the past 30 minutes. The honking horns of the cars had increased. He was getting irritated now. What was happening that the cars were not moving? He thought. Sighing he rest back in his seat and checked the time again.

Not after long, the cars in front of him started moving forward slowly. He drove behind the cars slowly and noticed that a police officer was talking to two-persons, a young short lady with her back against the cars and a not so old man, the side of his face only visible. It looked like there had been an accident he thought in himself and brought his eyes back on the road. And left from there.

Hridhaan had reached his work but was extremely late. On his way here, he had met some more traffic jams but that was cleared soon. When he entered the building, Paul was already waiting for him in the lobby. They greeted each other and went towards the elevator, with Paul updating today's schedule to Hridhaan.

When he reached his floor he greeted his employees and went straight to his cabin. Everything was arranged to his liking. Once he settled down, he asked Paul to arrange a meeting with Raqesh and his team from the finance department. He had to discuss the income and expenditure with him.

Hridhaan was busy replying to some e-mails when his secretary came to remind him about a meeting that would be in 15 minutes.

Hridhaan had a hectic day. It was now lunchtime and he was with Nisha, his girlfriend, at a nearby restaurant having lunch.

They talked about how their day went so far and they talked about other things too. Soon their lunchtime was over.

Before heading back to their work Nisha asked him out for dinner tonight. And he gladly accepted it.

Hridhaan had left his office and was on his way to Raichand Mansion.

Hridhaan had reached home, he saw his sister sitting in the living room, focused on a book that was in her hand. He greeted her and had a small chat, which included teasing each other with nicknames. He told her about his dinner date with Nisha. She smiled happily at him and told him to wear something amazing for tonight. And if he needed her help she would be there.

He said a thank you to her and left for his room.

Hridhaan and Nisha had their dinner and were now having a conversation. Nisha had said something funny to which Hridhaan started to laugh. While he was laughing, Nisha pulled out a small box from her purse and put it in the middle of the table.

Hridhaan had sobered up and when his eyes fell on the middle of the table his breath had caught up in his throat. He forgot how to breathe. His pleasant mood had gone. He had gone stiff and was tensed now. Nisha was looking at him with a big wide smile. While Hridhaan's face started to lose its color slowly. He ran his fingers through his hair. This was a habit of him whenever he was tensed. Everything was jumbled up in his mind. He was speechless, he didn't know from where to start.

He hadn't expected this from her. He looked back at the table and then back at her.
