"Hear, hear!" agreement from around the table made Herbert pale. One kingdom after another banned him from their borders. He could see their gloom lift as they took action, however petty. Finally, he looked at his father.
"I will go to seek my friend. It is only when I think of her that I can imagine any hope, for me or for any of us."
King Albert sighed then put his hand on his son's shoulder.
"God go with you, Herbert."
"For certainly none of us will," finished King Charmant acidly.
