Just one last time. I want to feel it, living, rather than death. Only once. What awaits me at the end of this never-finished draft, I wonder... Is it the cure to my curse, or yet another rebirth?
As winter continued to preside over the world, the land was coated in white, rivers froze, and the farms withered to naught. Snow wasn't uncommon, and neither were storms. Various sicknesses spread, food sources became hard to find, and warmth was the most sought-after element during day and night.
In such a condition, traveling can be considered one of the most dangerous things to do. Adventuring, especially, becomes so dreadful one can't easily dare to do it during this season.
"So… Where are we going now?"
Despite knowing all the difficulties of such a journey, the mercenary group consisting of a bunch of young adventurers was gathering outside their house. Bags on their shoulders and scarves covering their faces, they resisted the sharp winds and cutting cold, waiting for their leader to explain the situation.
"There is no need for everyone to accompany us."
