"Damned demon, let's continue," Aru said, securing the dagger in its sheath.
The demon, enraged by Aru's taunt, let out a resentful roar. "RRAAAARRR!" It dashed at Aru, the wounds on its arms still healing but its anger driving it to rash decisions.
The ground shook as the demon charged forward.
Aru stood his ground, reinforcing his body with spirit energy. This time, he was prepared. As the demon's heavy kick aimed for his head, Aru stepped forward and crouched, the leg flying over his head due to their height difference. Less than half the demon's height, Aru had better maneuverability in close combat and made full use of this advantage.
Only a fool would have dared to make such a risky move to dodge. A single mistake could have cost Aru his head. The flustered demon took a moment to react.
