Foreseeable Future.

It took a mere fraction of a second before Veritas snapped awake of the dazing nausea that he experienced. However, that moment seemed to last forever to him.

In a second, his mind felt like it was splitting and shattering and then in another, Veritas was suddenly divulged by a vision.

His feeble human brain could not comprehend the speed at which information was given to him. This made Veritas hold his temples due to the massive headache that he had experienced.

'My head is splitting apart..'

Veritas was kneeling on the floor and saw his Father and Mikella rushing towards him. His Father then put his hands on Veritas' shoulders, asking him with worry.

"What happened?! Are you alright Veritas?!"

Veritas felt that he needed to answer but the splitting headache prevented him from doing so.

"Mikella, help me bring him back to the Medical Ward!"

The series of events were hazy to Veritas' brain, he saw the two of them carrying him towards the direction of the Medical Ward. Then, he saw Aletheia taking care of his head, assessing the sudden predicament caused by the visions.

Aletheia seemed to be asking him something. However, Veritas could not discern anything.

He could not understand anything at all.

Veritas did not know how to differentiate reality from visions. The illusory feeling of visions took a great damage to his brain.

It was as if you were seeing with two eyes that are both far apart. One eye is in the middle of a peaceful grassland, and the other is on a hellish landscape.

Even when Veritas closed his eyes, Visions still flooded his mind.

This state... Veritas knew it all too well.

It was the state of infinity.

A state where everything is given to him all at once. He knew how to do certain things that he didn't even know existed. Everything couldn't be processed by a simple human brain. So, Veritas felt his mind splitting apart and his head suffering from a great headache.

However! A set of runes suddenly appeared in front of him. These runes were somehow comforting for his mind, he could read them properly even if his mind were bombarded with countless pieces of information.;.

[Bear it for a couple of minutes.]

'A couple of minutes is an eternity!' Veritas even considered a single second as an endless amount of time. Surviving a couple of minutes would not be possible!

Veritas shrieked in the immense pain of his splitting headache. His brain felt like it was going to explode at any second!

"Stay still son!" Aletheia comforted while keeping Veritas in place.

Veritas saw a couple of scenes. He saw a landscape filled with snow. A devastated ruin that seemed still and silent. A city that shone brightly in radiance. An eternal view of an underwater citadel, overrun by creatures from the Depths and different colors of barnacles and corals.

Veritas felt that he could no longer bear the constant visions. His mind was splitting and his Soul was fluctuating.

'I- Who am I?'

He was on the brink of losing control! Slowly, Veritas was forgetting what kind of person he was. He could not even discern which one was reality and which one was the Visions.

He felt that he was living in many places all at once!

Veritas was now feeling his Soul take over his own body. He was losing his control of his body, and now.. his mind was slowly getting taken over.

'AAAAAAHH!!'

When suddenly! The excruciating pain immediately subsided. Veritas could only see one vision now, and it was of him laying atop a hospital bed. His Mother was treating him, and he was lying there in silence.

The sudden shift in vision made him feel a sense of comfort yet dizziness. It felt peculiar...

Aletheia saw his condition getting better and held Veritas' fair face.

"Are you back? You're back right? How is it?"

Veritas could not answer due to the mental fatigue. With the visions finally over, his brain immediately shut down and he fell asleep.

'I'm done with Visions...'

But! A sudden flash of scenarios occurred right in front of him. It was not like the agonizing visions that he was experiencing before but now it was the normal Visions that he had gotten used to.

It seemed like a dream, flashing by so fast.

In that vision, Veritas saw countless corpses hanging in the air beside what seemed like a taciturn gothic castle.

He remembered the sight that he met back in the Agency.

'This is the same!'

'Is the Puppeteer still alive?!'

He did not know what place had a gothic taciturn castle, but the terrifying sight made him feel a sense of dread once more. It was as if he were facing that accursed Puppeteer once more.

However, the sudden vision finally ended and Veritas could not help but become mentally strained. Due to this, his brain could not handle it any more and it put Veritas into sleep.

Veritas lay on the soft-white bed of the Medical Ward and slept gracefully.

*

By the time that Veritas woke up, the orange rays of sunshine were already beginning to vanish. In the horizon, the gleaming hot ball known as the Sun was setting down and leaving Elrod back to the tranquil silence of the moon.

Veritas laid down comfortably, feeling the great headache vanish, remnants of it were still prevalent but it was nothing compared to the excruciating pain that he had experienced.

He checked his condition.

His Soul was stable, no signs of fluctuations. His body was still tired from the crazy ordeal the night before. Lastly, his mind felt whole again, it was still unsettling to see many visions at once, so Veritas had a difficult time adjusting back to his proper vision.

'I'm.. alright.'

He looked around for a bit and saw two figures sitting near his bed.

The two had faces of elegant beauty, it looked as if comparable to that of Veritas' fair face. If these two were given good support, they would surely become as popular as celebrities.

Veritas was already familiar with the two individuals near him.

One was a boy with crystal blue eyes and messy black hair, and the other was a feminine-faced young man with long silky black hair and blue eyes comparable to that of the boy near him.

The boy with messy black hair looked as if he were wearing a formal suit and attire. While, the young man with long silky black hair was wearing a lightish blue shirt and white slacks.

"Bello! Alune!"

The two were jolted up and they immediately stopped what they were doing. They looked at Veritas' direction and hastily made their way towards him.

"You're alright! What happened?"

Alune's soft voice echoed along the aisle. If Veritas did not know that Alune was a man, he would surely be blushing right now.

"Yeah."

"What happened? Everyone told us that you suddenly fainted in the corridor. Luckily, his majesty the King and the Head Wielder were there to catch you."

Veritas looked lost, trying to remember the circumstance that happened before. It was fragmented and hazy, seeming like a dream that was to be immediately forgotten.

"Alune.. I- saw visions. I saw countless of them. Although I don't remember much, a particular one stood out the most."

Alune tilted his head slightly to the right and pondered the vision of the Prince.

"Is it alright if I divulge this vision to you? That thing might happen again, you know."

Alune looked straight at Veritas and simply nodded his head.

"Go ahead."

As a Dreamer, his job was to interpret dreams and visions. As they were powerful pieces of information, Alune couldn't ignore a plea for help. A few days ago, his mental state had not been stable at all. However, after the Queen concocted a potion made specifically for him, Alune felt his mind get stronger and better.

He was still susceptible to experiencing mental attacks but that was a different subject.

As of right now, he felt that revelations of dreams and visions could affect him in a miniature manner.

With that, Veritas continued speaking in a calmly tone.

"In that vision or dream that I saw.. countless of bodies hang up in the air. A gothic castle was seen amidst the horizon of hanged bodies. It seemed as if the incident that happened last night occurred once more."

"Last night? The incident in Copper Borough?"

"Indeed."

Alune merely sat down and listened attentively to Veritas' story.

"Those bodies.. they were lifeless, swaying along with the winds. It was really disturbing to say. But, the eerie thing is.. the silence that came with it."

"It looked like a barren land, abandoned and desolated."

Veritas finished retelling his vision and glanced at the two's direction. Alune was thinking quietly while Bello looked like he was trying to remember something.

"That.. could you explain further on that gothic castle?" Bello questioned.

"I don't really remember much."

"Did it have a sparring ground?"

Bello looked alarmed upon questioning.

"I think so?"

"Did the castle look taciturn and old?"

"Yes."

Bello's eyes widened and his body seemed to look tense.

"Three pointy spires at the top?"

Veritas mouthed the answer 'no' but he abruptly stopped. He thought hardly on the vision that he saw.

Amidst the hanging corpses swaying along with the winds, was a taciturn and gothic castle. It looked like its purpose was to intimidate the students and strengthen their wills.

And atop that very castle, were three sharp spires that looked as if it were piercing the skies.

Veritas' eyes widened and he thought:

'How does Bello know?'

After a few seconds of silence, Veritas' face looked grim and he replied:

"Yes."

Bello tensed up and he revealed an important piece of information to the three of them.

"That vision you had.."

Bello breathed out heavily.

"That might be Knights Academy..."
