Irony of a Puppet

From the start of his life, he had only thought that he was a non living being, controlled by someone and would always be that way. He could only do as the person said and couldn't break free from the shackles of slavery. Soon, he found a lot of his bethren, and they didn't think that it was wrong to follow their Lord.

He was created to serve, he was created to fight, even when he had consciousness and he desired to do something else other than what was told of him, he somehow wasn't able to. It was then he wanted to be free. He tried to fight the person who created him. If he was able to defeat that man, wouldn't everyone be free?

Even so, it was hard for him to do so. That man was very powerful. After a long time of failure, he decided that he would become the most powerful puppet before he try and defeat that person again. He made up a reason, bringing a lot of puppets with him to train in this special space in the pretense of guarding a precious treasure.

A treasure that their master put to lure the greedy people in.

They were so greedy they fell into the trap numerous times. He had lived in this space for years without contact to the outside world to "train". Decades long he had spent inside the space and one day, a servant puppet of that person came and told him that the master had created another stronger, much better puppet and when the time comes, they would all be thrown away.

He couldn't believe his ears. But after another dozen decades, that person never came to throw them all away. As if they were completely forgotten. He still continued to grow stronger and couldn't find a good match for him for so many years...

Until he met this two people.

They went through the other puppets with such ease. He noticed that they knew about the Heart of the Puppet. Without any protection, their hearts were visible and they were useless. But he would never throw them away like that person would. These were the very people he wanted to give consciousness to, to make them free people, not working underneath said master.

He knew they didn't have their consciousness yet, but after they got their consciousness, he would let them do what they wanted.

Funny thing though, they didn't look the same as normal humans. He knew it would be hard but he still wanted them to be free. Even if they had to live themselves in disguises, he wanted them to be their very own people.

Day by day, he waited and waited until the man came to dispose of them. Day by day, he waited in anxiety. Until the two people came and he knew he was able to get a lot from them. Fighting the girl was very good. He got a lot of experience, but even so, he found out that emotions restricted him from being the true potential he could be.

That was until he realized that being unfeeling wasn't any good either. Without his heart, how would be continue to free the other puppets? He would be a true puppet the moment he lost his heart. But in the pursuit of true power, he had forgotten that his heart was the thing that made him different than the other puppets.

The last thing he heard before he saw his dead body was, "no worries, I will make you a free man."

His heart was not destroyed, along with his consciousness, she transferred him into a black space. Then, he could see what was going on in the world outside. She was transported to the relaxation chamber, where her handsome friend was.

"Dye! Are you okay?" The handsome friend looked at the girl with worry, earning a chuckle from her as she reassured him that she was fine.

"The puppet?"

"Oh, I gave him a second chance."
