Chapter 12 The Conditions to Stay

"I cured her," Worton said lightly.

Rubina rolled her eyes, saying, "Worton, don't joke with me. I know you. Aren't you a wandering doctor? If you were that capable, the patient's family wouldn't have chased and beaten you up."

"A wandering doctor?"

Worton didn't know what was going on. He had just casually made up an excuse with Rubina back then and put it behind him since then.

Rubina continued, "Yes, didn't you tell me so in person seven years ago? You said that you treated him at random and failed to cure him. As a result, the patient's family chased after you. Have you forgotten all this?"

She blinked her big black eyes as she asked.

"I see." Worton indeed forgot about it, but it might be a good thing to let Rubina think that he was an incompetent wanderer.
