Midgar Zolom

The next morning they got their Chocobos and began riding towards the swamps that were blocking their way.

John and Nesiara saw it as a way to train the group of upstart heroes. They watched while the group fought against the monsters inside the swamps and helped out when it was really necessary.

Suddenly a giant snake appeared in front of them while the group was fighting two Elfadunks. The group of five froze in place after seeing the snake when Cloud says, "We are done for a Midgar Zolom."

"Who wants to fight it?" asks John looking at it feeling disappointed as he could feel that the Midgar Zolom was quite weak compared to him.

"I will go," says Nora as Excalibur appears in her hand.

"You five concentrate on the two Elfadunks while Nora takes care of our snake problem," says John as he looked at them.

Nora rushed at the Midgar Zolom while it was approaching her as well. The Zolom leaned up and over Nora as it was ready to attack while Nora jumped at her prey.

The group saw Nora in mid-air when the Zolom wanted to eat her whole forgetting that she could fly from their nervousness.

The Zolom was almost with its mouth on Nora when she suddenly evaded by twisting her body to the side and began to fly over the Zolom's head and cut the head clean off separating it from the body as it was still twitching without its head.

The others were still fighting when Nora says, "It was quite weak."

'Quite weak my ass, you monster,' was everyone in the group thinking except for Aerith as she was smiling at Nora because she was fine.

They continued on their way towards the Mythril Mine when John asks, "Do you think there is still some Mythril left in the mine?"

"Could be possible. If there wasn't then Shinra wouldn't have people digging there," says Barret since he heard that the Mythril Mine was the main income of the town Kalm.

"Mythril is a legendary mineral in many worlds. I don't know why it isn't here," says John as he knows his minerals from smithing and studying them in the Library.

"Maybe you should let a clone dig a little amount of it for personal use," says Nesiara as they continued while letting the group fight some more monster until they could easily handle them.

They arrived at the end of the swamps and the sun was setting in the west ready to go down as John says, "Alright, I think you all did well today. We should get you cleaned up before we teach you something nice."

Nesiara used magic as she cleaned them up before John sat down and explains to them how to use Haki. It would help them in the long run since it needs willpower to work and Cloud needed it the most right now.

He demonstrated it by showing it to the group as his hand suddenly turned black and he took a fang of the Zolom that Nora killed and tries to stab himself with it.

Aerith closed her eyes as well as Tifa when they heard something collide. They opened their eyes thinking someone stopped John only to find the fang not being able to penetrate his skin.

"This is one of the benefits the second is this," says John as he closes his eyes and says, "Cloud try to attack me."

Cloud was nervous to do that as Nesiara smiles at him and says, "Just try it you won't be able to hurt him trust me."

Cloud nods as he swung his sword at John who evades attack after attack with his eyes closed before stopping Cloud when he caught the sword of Cloud showing the power of Haki.

"This was the second benefit you can foresee the next move of your opponent if you reach my level you can do it with your eyes closed," says John when the sun was down and a horde of monsters came for them when John says, "And the third and last of the used of Haki is this."

Suddenly they felt pressure coming from John but they didn't feel anything when suddenly the horde that was coming for them just felt over from his Conqueror's Haki.

"Only a few people can unlock the third one but I am sure you will be all able to unlock it," says John as he looked at them before saying, "But first let us put the tents up and make a campfire before teaching it to you five."

They made camp as all five had their personal teacher. Kieron was teaching Aerith while Nora was teaching Tifa. Yui was with Red XIII and Nesiara was teaching Barret. John was teaching the problem child because he was separating the connection from Sephiroth with Cloud while teaching him.

He didn't need a Sephiroth that could use Haki or the fight might be harder than it already would be.

He had time to find some methods to make Cloud shut Sephiroth out and the one that Professor Snape uses against Harry would be the best helping Cloud build a wall in his mind to not let Sephiroth inside his mind.

"Cloud we two will have a different training before I teach you how to use Haki," says John as Cloud looked at him seriously.

"You mean because Sephiroth is seeing what I'm doing," says Cloud as John nods.

"Exactly, we can't let him get stronger than he will already become. That's why you will go under another training first," says John explaining that he would use a spell that would imitate what Sephiroth would do to enter his mind.

"If this doesn't work?" asks Cloud feeling helpless as the others were getting stronger while he was on a standstill.

"Then I will have to create a wall myself inside your mind but that will block some of your memories and it's not something I really want to do," says John as memories are the things that shaped a person.

"Alright, let's begin," says Cloud as he used the spell on Cloud and entered his mind without much trouble.

He releases Cloud and says, "You need to fight harder against it. I entered without troubles."

Cloud nods as he prepared himself before John says, "Now!"

This time there was a little resistance but that wasn't enough as he entered again. They repeated the process as they took the first nightshift.

Cloud was working quite hard but John always was able to enter his mind as he says, "It needs to be more robust so it doesn't fall if I concentrate all my power into one place. But you are making progress come one last time. Then you should go to sleep."

'It's always getting more difficult to enter his mind but for someone like me and Nesiara it's still too easy,' thinks John as he does it again and it was a good defense for a normal person to not be able to penetrate as he this time used only a tenth of his strength instead of a twentieth.

He broke through and Cloud was disappointed when John says, "That wall was strong build another one that is stronger and you pass my test."

Cloud nods finding something to be happy about as John was too because his student seemed to learn faster. John was smiling as he left Cloud's mind again.

Cloud then went to sleep as John stayed awake when Nesiara hugged him from behind and asks, "How was his training?"

"He is learning fast. I needed to use a tenth of my strength to enter his mind. He is ready to learn Haki now without risking Sephiroth will learn it," says John as Nesiara kisses his cheek.

"Then come to bed even the Chocobos are sleeping soundly," says Nesiara hinting that no monster should attack them tonight.

"Fine," says John as he follows Nesiara into their tent.

The next morning Nesiara and John grilled some Zolom meat for breakfast before continuing on their way to the Mythril Mine. They arrive and it seemed everything was quite calm.

Nesiara and John didn't find the pierced Midgar Zolom like in the game when the others continued they stood there and John says, "The World already began to change in Midgar."

"It seems so," says Nesiara as she looked at the group who went towards the cave entrance.

"Maybe it's for the better," says John as he smiled while looking at the group.

"Maybe," says Nesiara as she mounted on her Chocobo and says, "But for that, we need to find out the end of the story."

They catch up as once in front of the cave John suddenly made all Chocobos disappear for now as he says, "We will be staying two days in the mine to train your Haki while doing that I will mine some Mythril to reinforce your weapons."

"Who will be teaching me Haki if you are mining?" asks Cloud as clones of John appeared.

"I will. My clones will be mining. I can't have my student fall behind the others," says John as they walked into the mine after everyone got a hang on Armament Haki.

The other two Haki would develop gradually as they use Haki and survive battles. The clones separated from the group to mine while the group continued on their way. They would find monsters once in a while to fight against when they reached found a bald man with sunglasses on.

The man saw them too and he began to sweat as he saw Nesiara when Aerith asks, "Rude, what are you doing here?"

"Searching for you but it seems you are in better company than Turks," says Rude looking at Nesiara and John as he continues, "We saw what happened with President Shinra and know that you didn't kill him but Sephiroth."

"We know that Sephiroth was behind it. We were there when he killed President Shinra," says Barret feeling left out.

"Shouldn't we take the Cetra with us?" asks a feminine voice as a blond-haired woman as she appears from a tunnel behind Rude.

"We have other priorities," says a man with long black hair having a tilak on his forehead between the eyes.

"Tseng, you are here too," says Aerith happy to see him.

"Yes, but we are searching for how it was possible for Sephiroth to kill President Shinra by using a puppet. But then again how does a human manage to suplex a tank while falling from 30 floors," says Tseng as he read the reports Reno and Rude made and sees three of the people mentioned on the report while he sees the woman that hit his boss in the face.
