Fighting the Heartless

Back at the present, the couple and Sora entered the motel and find six people inside it. Sora pulled his Keyblade out and was ready to fight when John stops him.

"It seems you have a bad experience with one of them before but we are all brother-in-arms as we all have the same enemy," says John being the voice of reason.

"It's you three again," says Cid recognizing them since they entered the shop while he was looking over it.

"They really look like the real deal but younger except for Cid. Cid seems to have a more family-friendly vocabulary than the one we know," says Nesiara while looking at John as they looked confused at the couple.

"We are from a world that is different from yours in that world there exists an Aerith, Cid, and Yuffie. They are friends of ours. Well, let's say Aerith is more than just a friend since she married our son," says Nesiara as she brought the most recent photo of them all.

Sora could clearly see that the people in the picture resembled the three across of them. Nesiara handed the photo over and Yuffie sees John lifting her on his shoulder as if she was his daughter. Aerith saw herself holding a child and Cid sees himself beside Shera.

"That is me," says Yuffie surprised as were the others when John coughs.

"It's because we are from a different Universe if we take it exactly and not from a different world like you all," says John bringing light into their case.

"Wait, there are more than different worlds out there," says the anthropomorphic white duck looking like a mage in the round.

"There are and most of them are in danger as well. We travel from Universe to Universe to help them," says Nesiara as she couldn't say from World to World since that wouldn't sound right in this world.

"Donald isn't that the Keyblade that King Mickey asked us to find," says the anthropomorphic black dog that looked like a knight with his shield.

The others didn't even listen as they were inspecting the photo when Leon asks, "Why am I not on the picture?"

"Because you aren't from the same world. But our Cid made contact with your people the last time I talked to him," says John as Leon nods understanding that in another Universe Leon wasn't born in the same World as his friends.

"That doesn't mean that your other self won't meet us in the near future. As I said before Cid was on his way to help your world with a friend of ours," says John pointing at Zack.

"Cloud and Tifa are also on this picture. We got separated when our world disappeared," says Aerith as she sees a child in Tifa's arms.

"Is that the child of Cloud and Tifa does that mean they will become a couple in this Universe as well?" asks Yuffie making John and Nesiara smile.

"Of course not. Everyone walks a different path. My Cloud is not the same as yours," says John as Nesiara stopped the anthropomorphic animals from jumping at Sora.

"Maybe, we should discuss this after we find a safe house this motel will soon be overrun by Heartless," says Nesiara as she and John seemed the only ones to have heard them before.

"Heartless?" asks Donald as Goofy was scratching his head before lifting his finger.

"I think he means those Shadows that attacked us before," says Goofy before giving his iconic hyuck.

"Now I really would have liked my children to be here while they were children to interact with you two. In my world you are quite famous for entertaining the world with Mickey Mouse being the leader of you three," says John as he takes out some iconic plushies that looked exactly like Mickey, Donald, and Goofy.

"Look Donald that is us," says Goofy as he could clearly recognize himself.

"John, you can fanboy later," says Nesiara as John coughs twice.

"Right let us deal with the Heartless and buy them time," says John as he took his plushies away and summoned Judgement this time.

"You all retreat from here. We will meet you all in a moment," says Nora as Sora stayed beside them.

"I can fight again," says Sora with confidence as Leon and Yuffie appear beside John.

"We can fight as well," says Leon as he was holding his Gunblade while Yuffie was holding her Shuriken.

Cid joined them holding his lance while Aerith was holding a staff. Donald and Goofy joined as well. Donald was holding his Mage's Staff while Goofy was holding his Knight's Shield.

"We won't run from this fight," says Donald serious making John chuckle from hearing him.

"Then let us defeat them," says Nesiara as she took her staff out of her hair.

"I will go first," says Nesiara as she takes three steps when the barrier was in her sight.

She sees cracks on it while a little army was trying to enter it when Nesiara says, "Extent and grow bigger, Ruyi Jingu Bang!"

The staff does as commanded and it grows so big and large that Nesiara was holding it from the middle part of the end. It broke through the barrier and killed the Heartless where it penetrated through. Then Nesiara returned it to its normal size and prepared for the fight while the barrier was now falling apart.

"Now!" shouts John as he rushed out of the room with the others.

They joined Nesiara and began to fight off the Heartless while working together. The group was astonished at how Nesiara and John controlled the current battlefield. It was like they were playing chess but were moving their pieces simultaneously.

Whenever someone was about to get hit by a Heartless an energy blade or a staff intervened without bothering the movement of the one that was being protected by them.

Sora was fighting bravely against the Heartless while gaining experience on how to deal with them faster. The same could be said about Donald and Goofy as Donald adjusted to the colors of the flying Heartless that attacked with elemental magic while Goofy learned how to read the Heartless faster so he could protect the others.

Once the battle was over and the last Heartless was gone did Sora collapse from exhaustion. The same could be said about half of the group with Leon being the only one still conscious.

John walked over towards Leon and says, "You can rest now. We will take you to a safe place."

That was the last thing Leon heard before he closed his eyes and fell asleep. John looked at Nesiara who only nods and they all disappear making the person watching them feel nervous.

He appears and looks around before asking himself, "Where could they have gone? I need to make sure that her heart returns to the original body."

"The boy is fine they are just in a pocket dimension in which you can't enter yet since Justice never made a key for you," says Jack as he appears in front of the hooded man.

"You changed the timeline which will make things more complicated for Sora as well as for Kairi the last descendant of your line, Leon Crownguard," says Jack as Leon removed his hood showing his face making Jack see his face which now decorated a small beard around his chin.

"She is the only thing, the world left me. And I will bring her back even if the boy has to die at the end of his journey," says Leon as he was serious about what he said when Jack smiles.

"Maybe you should let your parents deal with this situation. They can bring Kairi back and the boy should also survive which won't break poor Kairi's Heart," says Jack as Leon summoned Ultima and Two Became One in his hands and points Ultima at him.

"You know that I can't lose her. She is the only thing left of her. She won't forgive me if her last descendant dies while I could only watch," says Leon as tears began to build around his eyes that were red.

"You don't trust them because they couldn't protect you. Boy, do you know that they swore revenge upon me and Logan until we return you to them? They even tried to kill me and Logan but didn't manage to accomplish it because of what we are. So how about you let them deal with the situation and just watch from the shadows as you did before," says Jack as Leon points Ultima down before both Keyblades disappear.

"At least you have one thing in common with both of your parents. You have the guts to point your weapon at a being that can just snap you out of existence," says Jack with a smile before fading away.

"I hope that they can accomplish it their way since my way will only bring pain to her," says Leon as he put his hood back on before he fades away into Darkness.

In the meantime in Paradise, John and Nesiara were helping Justice in placing their friend in the beds inside the Mansion. After doing so they went down to the kitchen and prepared something to eat.

"Don't you think that something was strange about Sora being in the Dalmatian's Mansion when he should have been sleeping in a bed with Leon and Yuffie watching over him," says Nesiara as she placed the first book of the series on the table.

"Yes, also that so many Heartless appeared out of nowhere which makes me suspect that Jack or Logan have their hands in this," says John as he was taking out the chicken out of the fridge and asks, "Do you think Donald will eat chicken?"

"You want to give a duck some chicken are you crazy make some beef and everyone should be happy," says Nesiara as she laid her head against the table feeling exhausted from reading the first book which was quite a dry read in her opinion like every other book she read before.

John put the chicken back inside and pulls the beef out of the fridge and prepares it before making Hamburgers for all the people that are sleeping since they will need to eat something before they returned to Traverse Town.
