The temptation of billionaires

Wendy first met the billionaire Dirk at a party hosted by her boyfriend, Glenn. In order to retaliate against Glenn's unfaithfulness, Wendy had a one-night stand with Dirk, and their lives turned into a complex adult game, a high-risk gamble, where the boundaries of right and wrong became blurred, and no one emerged unscathed. However, beneath the surface of this adult game, there is a story of redemption. Dirk had secretly admired Wendy since childhood, and this article reveals how their relationship is fundamentally a mutual journey of redemption. Dirk is a product of arranged marriage by his parents, leading to a lack of love and indifference in his upbringing. It was Wendy's father who gave him a glimmer of paternal love, which initially sparked Dirk's interest in Wendy. Meanwhile, Wendy's life underwent a significant transformation during her high school years; her parents tragically passed away, leaving only her and her aunt. They became mutually dependent, shaping Wendy's character. This story unveils the passionate, complex, and ultimately redemptive journey of two souls intertwined by fate and environment, exploring themes of love, desire, and the pursuit of emotional healing.

Our Relationship Ends Here

In the outdoor parking lot, a tall and handsome man holding a beautiful woman was enough to draw the attention of passersby. Speculations about their relationship were abundant.

Wendy couldn't fathom what game Jefferson was playing.

"Thank you."

Jefferson had already put her down and opened the passenger side door of the car. "Get in."

Wendy was about to say something when she noticed the look in Jefferson's eyes. She followed his gaze and realized that her skirt had a tear at the side, revealing an awkward glimpse of what was underneath. So, was this the reason he had carried her down like this?

Jefferson calmly said, "Get in, it's on the way."

Wendy used her bag to cover the torn area, pondering when that had happened. It was probably when she grabbed the railing earlier.

She sat in the passenger seat, and Jefferson circled around to the driver's side. "Address."

"Golden Coast Estates." She didn't hide anything, especially now that her skirt had a tear. She couldn't just go back to the office to retrieve her luggage; it was more convenient to go home directly.

Jefferson glanced at her before starting the car. "Are you renting or did you buy it?"

"I bought it. I sold my family's old house to make the down payment, and I still have a mortgage for many years." Wendy replied honestly.

"You're quite candid."

"I've told you, I'm not afraid you'll try to take advantage of me." The house in Golden Coast Estates was definitely not something that would catch Jefferson's eye given his financial status.

Jefferson didn't respond to her statement. Wendy was comfortable riding in his car mainly because she hadn't sensed any ulterior motives from him, at least not in a romantic sense.

Sometimes a person's sixth sense is surprisingly accurate, especially in Wendy's case, where she has had a constant stream of admirers since childhood.

As Jefferson's car approached the exit, a vehicle suddenly sped up from the side.  Jefferson slammed on the brakes, and Wendy's heart skipped a beat.  Luckily, both cars were not traveling at high speeds.

"Ding—"

Her phone vibrated in her bag, and in the otherwise silent car, it felt like the wheels of the cars grinding on the road were still resonating in her ears.

"You're not answering your phone?"

Jefferson stared at her, but Wendy couldn't focus on him.  She took out her phone and saw the name on the screen—Dirk.

She answered, "Hello?"

The man's voice was icy.  "Get out of the car."

Wendy suddenly looked up to see the car on the other side.  The tinted windows made it impossible to see who was inside, but the license plate was unmistakably his.

She felt an inexplicable surge of anger.  Could it be that he was causing trouble for her because of Sophia?

"I'm not getting out," she said and promptly hung up the call, turning her head away.

Jefferson raised an eyebrow, and the car on the other side suddenly started its engine, ready to ram into them.

Wendy's eyes widened.  Had he gone insane?

The car door clicked open, and Jefferson said to Wendy, "You've seen it.  If you don't get out, this brand-new car of mine will be scrapped."

Wendy suddenly realized that Jefferson's behavior had been peculiar from the start. She could only conclude one thing: him asking her to get into the car wasn't out of gentlemanly concern to prevent her from being exposed, but rather, it had been intentional.

"Was having me get into the car all a setup? What's your intention? To provoke Dirk?" Wendy directly pointed out the question to Jefferson.

Jefferson tapped the steering wheel lightly. "It was just a little test, and I've already got the answer now."

It truly was different, just as Colin had said.

Wendy rolled her eyes. They all had some kind of issues. She unfastened her seatbelt, pushed open the car door, but didn't get into Dirk's car. Instead, she walked out.

The security guard at the entrance had no idea what was going on and quickly rushed to close the gate, thinking that two luxury cars were about to engage in some confrontation. Little did he know that the car that was initially going to ram into them had reversed, and Jefferson rolled down his window, smiling, before leaving as well.

Wendy's hands crossed, using her bag to cover the damaged part of her skirt, and she limped forward at a less than impressive pace.

To be honest, it wasn't her first time experiencing such a difficult situation, but she probably wouldn't have garnered so much attention from everyone on the street if it weren't for a luxury car following her.

Dirk casually trailed behind her, occasionally honking the horn.

Wendy's stubborn streak flared up, and she couldn't be bothered to look at him. She decided to sit on a nearby bench, watching the passing cars and playing games on her phone while waiting for the bus. Let him follow her all he wanted.

She had made up her mind; she wanted to keep as much distance as possible from this difficult bed partner. All the inexplicable romantic interests around him could swallow her up.

The car door opened and a tall and imposing man walked with an unhurried gait, coming to stand in front of her, blocking the light.

School students nearby had just finished their classes, and upon seeing Dirk, they couldn't help but stare at him, chattering excitedly. Wendy lowered her gaze, pretending not to notice.

The man had already crouched down to grab her ankles when Wendy tried to get up. Dirk, however, grabbed her waist from behind and lifted her into the car.

This position was clearly uncomfortable and risked making the tear in her skirt worse. Wendy, covering herself and scolding, said, "Dirk! Put me down! Can't you hear me?"

Dirk tossed her into the back seat, got in himself, and ordered the driver, "Drive."

"Okay."

Wendy felt disoriented from being thrown around and, as she was about to scold him, Dirk had already placed her feet on his knees and began removing her high heels.

Wendy blushed, clearly not expecting Roan and the driver to be in the car.

Moreover, having Dirk take off her shoes in this situation was entirely inappropriate!

"Don't move," Dirk glanced at her and applied an ice pack to her ankle, causing Wendy to hiss in pain. He continued despite the water from the ice pack soaking his expensive suit pants.

"Are you going to take out your frustration on me because someone bullied you? Planning to limp all the way back? Don't need your foot?" Dirk began scolding her.

Wendy retorted sarcastically, "Well, it's all thanks to you."

"You're not entirely innocent either. Do you think you have no connection to me?" Dirk turned to look at her.

"Don't pin this on me. You know Sophia came after me because she suspected I was seducing you."

Dirk's other hand suddenly gripped her knee, lightly caressing it, and he spoke calmly, "Well, in this matter, she didn't entirely misunderstand you."

Wendy widened her eyes, wanting to deny any seduction at this point. If she had started with a vengeful mindset, then perhaps she was guilty.

"You were the one who invited me," Dirk stated confidently. Roan had already raised the partition, so these words were no longer meant for him to hear.

Wendy seethed with frustration, "That's enough."

"What?"

"Our previous relationship ends here."
