The temptation of billionaires

Wendy first met the billionaire Dirk at a party hosted by her boyfriend, Glenn. In order to retaliate against Glenn's unfaithfulness, Wendy had a one-night stand with Dirk, and their lives turned into a complex adult game, a high-risk gamble, where the boundaries of right and wrong became blurred, and no one emerged unscathed. However, beneath the surface of this adult game, there is a story of redemption. Dirk had secretly admired Wendy since childhood, and this article reveals how their relationship is fundamentally a mutual journey of redemption. Dirk is a product of arranged marriage by his parents, leading to a lack of love and indifference in his upbringing. It was Wendy's father who gave him a glimmer of paternal love, which initially sparked Dirk's interest in Wendy. Meanwhile, Wendy's life underwent a significant transformation during her high school years; her parents tragically passed away, leaving only her and her aunt. They became mutually dependent, shaping Wendy's character. This story unveils the passionate, complex, and ultimately redemptive journey of two souls intertwined by fate and environment, exploring themes of love, desire, and the pursuit of emotional healing.

I have an appointment

"Between being my lover and bed partner, you choose the latter?"  Dirk set aside the newspaper and stared at her, perhaps surprised by her request.

Wendy knew he would react this way.  If she became his lover, she would have access to resources in entirely new realms that she had never encountered in her more than twenty years of life.

She could indeed ascend to a new social class during the time Dirk was interested in her.

And she believed that someone like Dirk, on the day he left, would provide her with enough to thrive for a lifetime.

It was a shortcut.

But perhaps it was a matter of foolish pride and the fear of the unknown.  She was not the type to hand over the question of her future choices to an unknown variable.

Apart from physical compatibility, she knew nothing about Dirk as a person. Physical pleasure alone wasn't enough to chain herself to this.

"Yes, if Mr. Dirk wishes to continue this type of relationship with me, I only accept the latter."

"Do you refuse even basic gifts?"

"If it can be avoided, I'd prefer not to.  Our relationship is based on the mutual exchange of our bodies, and gifts are given to ensure the sustainability of this relationship.  Dealing with gifts if we were to part ways would be very troublesome."

Dirk appeared somewhat displeased.  "I'm not someone who likes to take advantage of others."

"Is Mr. Dirk suggesting a more committed relationship with me?"

Dirk didn't speak, but his stern expression conveyed his intention.

Wendy thought for a moment and said, "Mr. Dirk's personal physical condition is, in my opinion, the best gift.  It's a new channel for me to relieve stress."

Complimenting a man on sex this aspect in front of him was quite bold, and Dirk couldn't believe she had the audacity to say such a thing.

Someone like Glen could be called an ex-boyfriend, but he wasn't worthy of it?

Dirk stood up abruptly, saying, "As you wish."

With a bang, the door closed, leaving Wendy bewildered.

Why did he suddenly get angry out of the blue?

After dinner, Wendy went upstairs to get her suitcase.  When Roan entered, he reminded her, " Wendy, your house is still under inspection."

Wendy, upon hearing this, put her suitcase down and asked, "Is this Mr. Dirk's decision?"

Roan simply smiled and didn't respond.

"Well, let's go."  Since Dirk didn't immediately chase her away, it meant he accepted her proposal.

They had reached an agreement, and Wendy had no reason to feel ashamed.

The car was waiting at the door, and the scenery here was even better in the daytime.  After Wendy got in the car, Roan handed her some documents.

"This is the statement Glen gave to the police last night.  Glen has been arrested and jailed.  You don't need to worry about the rest.  The main concerns are the attempted sexual assault and stalking from last night."

Wendy looked at Glen's statement, claiming it was just for fun due to a romantic interest between them, and she coldly laughed.

"I won't accept a private settlement.  I'm sticking to my principles."

Roan nodded, "Mr. Dirk said he respects your decision and will help you find a good lawyer."

Wendy's brow twitched slightly, and she did feel grateful to Dirk for this.  Without her text message, he probably wouldn't have become involved in this situation.

The fact that Glen's father was embezzling public funds was a cancer for the Future Hotel, but it had no benefit for Dirk.

"I still need to thank Mr. Dirk."

Roan sat quietly in the passenger seat until they neared the police station when he finally said, "Glen's mother came over last night, and she's a bit agitated. I suggest you avoid confronting her directly."

When Glen was initially dating her, Wendy couldn't recall the exact impression she had of his mother, but she remembered her haughty attitude.

Wendy believed that whether there would be a conflict depended on how the other party acted, and she had no intention of provoking it herself.

However, it was clear that a family that raised someone like Glen wasn't of the kindest nature.

Wendy had just entered the police station with Roan when the sound of high heels approached, and a woman accused, "You're the one who reported my son, aren't you?"

Wendy turned around, and Glen's well-groomed mother had her hand raised, ready to strike her face.

Roan's face changed, about to intervene, but Wendy reached out and pushed her back while shaking her hand off. She said, "Ma'am, are you openly attacking a civilian in a police station, which is a contempt of the law?"

"Don't act self-righteous with me! I know who you are. You're intentionally targeting my son, aren't you? How can you be so malicious?"

"Glen's mother, instead of causing a scene with me here, why don't you think about what your son has done? If he hasn't broken the law, I wouldn't have any reason to report him!"

"What are you pretending for? You just want money, don't you? Who do you think you are? Glen is my son, and I know him. He has always been well-behaved. If it weren't for people like you corrupting him and falsely accusing him, he wouldn't have been arrested!"

"Ridiculous! Do you think I forced him to spy on me and intimidate me with a knife?" Wendy stood her ground.

Glen's mother was trembling with anger. "Tell me, how much money do you want to drop the charges? You're just talking so much; in the end, it's all about money. Don't pretend to be high and mighty!"

Wendy raised an eyebrow and said to the nearby restraining officer, "You heard it too.     She's making personal attacks against me.     I refuse to meet with Glen privately, and I won't accept mediation.     I only trust the law to determine the outcome, and whatever it decides is how it should be."

Glen's mother's face changed, and her curses continued, but Wendy paid no attention to her.

Roan, of course, would provide a detailed report of the situation at the police station to Dirk.

When Colin entered his office, Roan's voice was still ongoing, and Dirk glanced at him, asking, "Do you have too much free time now?   you don't stay at own company;    you're coming over here in broad daylight."

"I had no choice either.  Your actions were quite bold.  You had Glen and his father locked up in one night.  Many people have been inquiring about it.  Those projects that Glen roped us into investing in, if they go south, even if the money isn't significant, it's still a matter of pride.  Can you give me a clear answer on what's going on?"

Dirk took a sip of his coffee and replied, "If you break the law, you go to jail.     Do we need someone to teach us that?"

Colin tossed his car keys aside and sat on the couch.     "Well, it looks like this guy is in jail for a while."

Since Dirk had taken action, he wouldn't let Glen come out easily.     It was likely he would have to go through some challenges.

Moreover, Glen isn't particularly bright. He often puts on a facade, but he's been involved in some shady activities behind the scenes. If we dig deeper, even using connections won't be easy.

Colin certainly wouldn't be pleading with Dirk for someone like Glen.

"Later, Hans and his group are planning a trip out to sea.     They say it's his girlfriend's birthday.     Are you going to join?"

Thinking of Wendy, Dirk figured she should be out of the police station soon.     He responded, "I have an appointment."
