Prologue: Gates

"In the year 2023, our world was irrevocably changed. Portals, known as 'Gates,' began to appear across the Earth, each one a gateway to a realm vastly different from our own. Among the most renowned were those leading to the celestial spheres of gods and angels, the fiery depths of demon lords, the ancient lands of dragons, and countless others.

With the arrival of these Gates, Earth became a melting pot of races from across the multiverse. However, the peace was short-lived as these races soon declared war on each other, turning our once tranquil planet into their battlefield.

In the early years of this interdimensional war, humanity struggled. Our technology, once a symbol of human achievement, paled in comparison to the otherworldly powers wielded by our new adversaries. Fifty years since the first Gate appeared, humanity was on the brink of extinction.

But just when all hope seemed lost, a miracle occurred. Fifteen years after the Gates first opened, humans began to manifest powers unlike anything seen in any world. These abilities, dubbed 'Unknown' due to their mysterious origin, were unique to Earth's humans.

Unknown was not just a new kind of power; it was a force unlike any other. While magic and aura were harnessed from within, Unknown was tied to something far more enigmatic - 'Fate.' Each human's Fate was as unique as their DNA, defining their Unknown and shaping its manifestations. Those who awakened to these powers were known as 'Middle Humans.'

Every Middle Human possessed a different Unknown, each one a reflection of their individual Fate. For instance, one of the most formidable Middle Humans bore the Fate of the 'Light Within.' This individual could manipulate and create light itself, drawing upon their Unknown to harness the very essence of illumination.

Forty years after the first Middle Human awakened their Unknown, the tide of the war began to turn. Humanity, once on the brink of extinction, rose from the ashes, stronger and more determined. With the combined might of our advanced technology and the formidable powers of the Middle Humans, we began to fight back.

No longer were we mere defenders of our world; we became attackers, taking the fight to the other worlds. Earth's humans, united in purpose and strengthened by the Unknown, stood ready to reclaim their home and their future. The war was far from over, but for the first time, victory seemed within our grasp. The tables had turned, and humanity was ready to write its own fate."
